It was a gorgeous sunny morning in Meadowlakes Texas with just a slight breeze. I was the last in our foursome to tee off on number 3, a 129-yard par 3. The first ball was short of the green, the second player's faded to the right, and the third hit his short. I struck my ball well and watched it drop to the left of the hole, which was what I wanted because the green slopes to the right. A mound blocks the view of the hole, so I couldn't see where it was from the tee box. As we approached, we saw three balls, but not mine. One guy said that maybe it went long. Since it was nowhere in sight, I started to the back side of the green and casually glanced in the hole to see if it had in fact dropped in. Sure enough, my Titleist 4 was nestled in the cup for my first hole in one.
