Our team on the ground at Muirfield had a chance to catch up with Titleist Brand Ambassador Scott Stallings to get his take on playing in his first Open Championship and we wanted to share some of the highlights from their chat…

As the first alternate, Scott decided that he was going to make the trip to Muirfield even before the final field was set.

"I had said to Zach (Johnson) that he needed to win for me to get in," since Johnson had also already qualified for The Open Championship.

"Luckily for me, that had already been taken care of earlier in the day. I am happy for Jordan (Spieth), that was an exciting win, but I am glad I didn't have to wait that playoff out to determine if I was going to be in (The Open Championship)."

Knowing he was already in the field and looking forward to making his first Open Championship appearance, it was a smooth plane ride for Scott.

Scott also said this is his first time playing Muirfield and he only had nine holes of links golf under his belt when he spoke to Team Titleist.  Check out what else he had to say about his golf ball, his equipment and his expectations this week in the video below.
