U.S. Open week is always one of my favorites and I personally can't wait for all of the action to get underway at Pinehurst No. 2.

Challenging courses, tough setups and the players always seem to rise to the challenge... always makes for some great golf in my book.

I'm hoping that Steve Stricker brings his A game and has a "Major" breakthrough this week.

I'm pupped for the US Open.  Especially with the course changes, this should really be an interesting week.  Like you Tyler, I hope Stricker wins it!

Mike, completely agree. It's also great that it coincides with Fathers Day. The only major / US Open I have ever experienced live was at Oakmont. Ever since I have hooked on the game and enjoy all it has given to me and my family and we try and reciprocate by volunteering and giving back to communities. The remembrance of Paine Stewart and what a great golfer, role model for many and most of all a great dad. Happy us open and fathers day

    Hey, Mike!

Great seeing this post.  I totally agree. The U.S. Open is the best because of the opportunities it gives to everyone and anyone with game.  It's our country's Open championship.  "The Greatest Game Ever Played," aptly portrays the possibilities of this great tournament.  Can't wait to see how it plays out this year.  It's the dream of every amateur to tee it up with the big boys.

Love the US Open and Pinehurst is an awesome venue.  Look forward to watching the coverage.

I'm pulling for Jordan Spieth and Adam Scott to duel it out.  Love both of their games and attitudes.

This is the best week in golf.  I am really looking forward to being in Pinehurst on Sunday.  With some luck, I may be there before then. It's only a three hour drive.   I played the course back in January.....what a treat...awesome.  I will be pulling for D. Gossett and PM.   Both of them are sentimental favorites for very different reasons.   Mike D. - will you be there on Sunday?

    Hi Tom,

Unfortunately I'll only be watching on TV this year. Are you headed there this weekend? However, I'm hoping to get down to N.C. in the early fall for some golf. Talk to you soon.

Mike - my wife and I will be there on Sunday.  We'll catch up with Brett, who is a volunteer this week and next.  Please stay in touch as you make plans to visit NC.  We will definitely have to get together for a round or two.

The U.S. Open is one of my favorites because par is a premium. It is a mental grind that truly separates the men from the boys. I am looking forward to the greens at Pinehurst No. 2 reeking havoc once again on the best players in the world. This year will be interesting because the Woman's Open is played right after. It is going to be some must watch TV for me. Marc

Very excited, love the looks of the redo to #2 !

Hoping Steve Stricker can bag his first major but  this year the limited schedule appears to be hurting him. He can't seem to string 4 solid rounds together.

Adam looks very confident and this course will allow him to use his length and great ball striking  to his advantage.

As with most US Opens the key will be making those mid range par putts to keep the round from going backwards.

Cannot wait to see it all unfold !!

I wonder if the toughness of these greens will overcome the forgiveness provided by wider fairways and no rough.

With no rough and a little wiider fairway's the longer guys will have the advantage of going at the greens with shorter clubs. The course is long so taking advantage of the par 5's will be key as birdies will be hard to come by.

I'll be there Wednesday through Sunday.  Can't wait for the practice round tomorrow to take some pictures, and then for the tournament itself should be really exciting.

This is going to be good. New design will be challenging. As always, polish up those putters and work real hard for the birdies. Good luck to Jordan Speith and Adam Scott. Hope you all leave some grass for the ladies! LOL.

Sitting on 14 green today.  It was amazing how many came up short right, and the ball rolls all the way down the hill.  Everyone that tried to chip it on, it came right back until they finally decided to use the flat stick.

Tomorrow I will try to see the tourney from the same location, as it is in a very shaded area with a great bleacher overlooking #12 green and #13 tee box.

Ya Mike I always get jacked up for the Majors.  There isn't enough time in the day as I would watch 8 hours of coverage on TV and want to play 36 every day!!!  Can't get enough of it!!!  The back stories with Pinehurst and all the contenders make it even a little better if you ask me.  I can't imagine how the players feel going into tomorrow.
