Any reason many of the tour staff are using the D2 head instead of the D3?

Looking at a lot of all the WITB's of most players on tour it seems that most players carry D2's probably because of it's work-ability.

Chris is right. On tour there are about 60% players playing the D3 head vs 40% players playing the D2 head. They go with the head that gives them the best launch conditions as well as the ball flight they want to see.
When we first brought out the D2's and D3's in the 910 model, it was 4 to 1 playing the D3 head, so many more players have gone to the D2 head in the 915's than previously.

Great info, Cathi. Although my 909 D2 is in the bag, I LOVE the look of my 915 D3. It's more appealing to the eye. For my game, the numbers are spot on with the D3; was getting a little more spin with the D2, just outside my ideal spin rate. As Cathi mentioned, the ball flight with the D2 was a little higher than I like. The D3 was just the right club for me. On the other hand, I just can't take out my 909 D2.
I guess this is a nod to the improved spin #'s and launch of the D2?

Tyler,
Great observation. Although there is still a majority of tour players playing the D3 head, the number of D2 heads on tour has increased dramatically since the release of the 915. My Titleist Rep confirmed my observation when testing the 915 that Titleist has tried and succeeded greatly in shortening the gap between the D2 and D3 heads as far as spin, workability, etc.

Eric, great point. When I was at Oceanside fitting for both the drivers this past October it was obvious (I have been playing D3 in years past) that the D2 is a fantastic club...in fact, my fitter and I agreed that, for me, it was the better choice.
Leave it to Titleist to continue to improve their clubs vs. go after market ploys!
