    Nice to see Titleist Bags, Hats, Clubs appearing more on the LPGA. Been noticing more of it the last 2 tournaments.

    Clubs, Bags are really making a statement not only on the Men's tour, but the Ladies as well.

    We play pretty darn good equipment I'd say.

    Couldn't agree more worm! Great to see more ladies out there playing the Titleist brand. I have my wife set up for a full bag Titleist fitting on May 1 - time to switch her to the best products out there! LGLG!

    Read an article in Golf Digest a few months back about the equipment disparity between the LPGA and PGA Tours. Most of the women do not have equipment given to them and must buy their own equipment. No tour vans at the LPGA events either. There is a gentleman who travels to most of the events with his trailer and does repair and loft/lie adjustments for the women. He doesn't charge them per se, but the ladies kick in some money and also the tour helps to get him supplies such as grips and small repair parts. These women bust their butts just as hard as the men do to succeed on tour and do it for a fraction of the money and perks. The total purse for this weeks LPGA event is $2 million. The winner at the RBC Heritage will get $1.1 million alone. Hopefully, some of the ladies you see with Titleist equipment, didn't have to stop by Dick's or Golf Galaxy to get it.

    I talked to the guys at TPI and I think it was Nelly Korda when she was having a full day fitting, say she had never been professionally fitted before. Wow. And her set was just a mix of whatever she had collected up over the years.

    I was unaware of the lack of sponsorship of players in the LPGA. I was glad to see Titleist is addressing this by sponsoring players such as Danielle Kang, So Yeon Ryu and the Korda sisters. Well done Titleist !

    I love watching the LPGA and have also been noticing more and more Titleist equipment. The Korda sisters are leading the way. I think most amateur golfers can learn a lot by watching the LPGA. They dissect courses with real precision vs. the bomb-and-gouge that seems to be more and more pervasive on the PGA Tour.

    I guess it all boils down to getting a sponsor. When Annika ruled the LPGA, she had a big name sponsor and all her equipment was fitted. She had balls, shoes, apparel, bags, and clubs. As for the money, they deserve more. Two issues that I see from working the tour as a volunteer are getting more big name sponsors for the tournaments to up the payouts and to get more interest from the patrons. We lost a LPGA event in our area because of lack of sponsorships and it was hosted by Annika. They are getting TV coverage but they still need more sponsors.

    Good points Chuck. There is definitely a relationship between sponsorship and player relations, especially how it plays into Pro-Am opportunities. Sponsors sign up for PGA events so they can get Pro-Am spots to play with golfers they admire. If the LPGA does not have as many players that the sponsors can relate to, then less likely to shell out the big bucks to be a part of it. Yes, LPGA players are good but they need more players like Rickie and Phil. My opinion anyway.

    Let me tell you a little about players that you can relate to. I was fortunate enough to get into 2 pro am's in my life. One PGA and one LPGA. Both were about 25 years ago. Our pro at the LPGA was Dottie Pepper when she was in her prime. Very approachable, kept the group pumped up as she is very competitive and always wants to win (We finished second ) and made it an enjoyable day. I'm not going to name the PGA pro's name, as I'm not looking to slam him in public, but he made it seem that he would have rather been at the dentist getting a root canal than being out on the golf course with us. (Thank goodness that day was a freebee for me) Can you tell me that you would not want to play golf with Lexi Thompson or Christi Kerr? How about the Korda sisters? Unfortunetly, the LPGA will always be at the bottom of the golf sponsor totem pole and it's a shame because there are a lot of weeks that I'd rather watch the ladies than the men. Rickie and Phil are out there when they feel like it. Lexi is out there every week.

    I wonder if there will be more manufacturer tour vans at LPGA events. The last LPGA event I attended was back in the days Annika was leading the way and I can't recall seeing any tour vans at that event. Does anyone know if manufacturer tour vans are at every PGA Tour event?

    Still no tour vans at LPGA events. Mfg. tour vans are at EVERY PGA Tour event.

    The LPGA has a guy who goes to all the tournaments who does the club repairs etc. There’s a good article about him in The Golf Journal #4 I believe.

    The tour vans are 7 figure investments. I work a local Champions event every year and I haven’t seen any tour vans there. Between Koran Ferry, Champions, LPGA, and PGA, that would be 4-5 tour vans when all are on the same weekend all over the country.

    As I am a LH golfer, women face a similar case. Small numbers of interested buyers. I can get any driver, so long as it is 10 or 10.5 degrees. As the game grows for women and more move past the pastel sets with matching bags, the OEM’s will invest more in the LPGA. The growth has been mostly in the last 5 years. Hopefully fewer will have to shop the bargain bin at Golf Galaxy to fill their bags.

    While I watch the PGA for (great) entertainment, LPGA events are what I watch for tips for my game. I can relate more with women’s WITB more than with men whose ball speeds are 50% higher than mine.

    I noticed that Danielle Kang was playing Titleist CB irons in the US Amateur which she won in 2010 and 2011. She continued to play Titleist clubs as a pro even when the company wasn’t sponsoring her. Finally, Titleist signed her up.

    Many players, both men and women, like to stick with the same style and brand they use growing up, especially the sticks they use for successful college careers. I would love to see more Titleist youth sets and more focus on supplying top tier colleges to "lock in" more future tour players. My thoughts anyway...

    This is exactly what png does. First with their "Prodi G" program fitted clubs for juniors with 1 free adjustment as they grow. Then their investment in Men's and Women's Collegiate Golf. But I suppose that each company must do as they see fit.

    It is a sad day because they cannot draw the numbers in fans and support that the men do. Even the mini tours for the men and the senior tours are not getting big payouts. I check them on a weekly basis. The sponsors and fans attending drive the payouts. Only the guys on the big show are getting the million dollar pay days and that is if you win. Some of the tournaments, first and second will top the million mark. Again, I have worked all the tours and the numbers at each level are just not the same. I love to watch the ladies play. They have so much talent and are great players, but the fans are not storming the gates to watch them play. The media could help every now and then. I wish I had the tempo and smooth swing of the great women golfers. They got game and deserve more. The sponsors support the golfers who hit the ball a mile and bring out the most fans. It is a game but the bottom line it is a big business. ROI.
