    Hey yall,

I was at PGA Sunday and got spent a lot of time watching the pros warm up. cally and TM had awesome looking staff bags that were Derby themed. Why doesn’t Titleist create staff bags for the majors? I would have loved to seen a Derby/Louisville themed bag from the goats!

You'll sometimes see a special edition bag for events like The Open (150th) or Ryder Cup as part of promotional pushes, but I've only ever seen the Scotty Cameron Tour bags follow the themed route like a Cally or TM colorway at an event.

The Scotty bags that are made typically aren't carried by players, but around the event/demo areas during practice rounds and a very limited supply hits the market.

I have to admit, Xander's bag was pretty cool looking. Black with red diamonds.

I believe I saw that it now is being auctioned off, probably signed by Xander. Hard to build a staff bag just for a few pros and one event without a pretty big budget for those kinds of things.
  5. I agree with this! I think it would be cool if Titleist would hop on this train and market creative staff bags for the majors or other events. Even though i know it hinders them away from their traditional look

That's the brand.. the black and white with the Titleist script, no need to do anything to it.

I wonder why that is? I’m sure there wouldn’t be any issue selling them at the event, especially with this past event at Valhalla right after the Derby. People would have jumped all over a Derby or Bourbon themed bag! I think it was a missed opportunity.

I am a traditionalist. Love the bags they game. Also have the Black/Red bag colors. IMO

Personally, I like the traditional black/white Titleist golf tour bags. Let the others do their own thing. That is what makes Titleist, Titleist. Unique, where others may appear outlandish. Just sayin'. Hakuna matata.

One of the things I admire most about Titleist is they do not do cheesy marketing gimmicks. Always clean, simple and classy. That being said, the Majors are different and each individual has their favorite (Masters, US Open, British Open, PGA) is my order of preference. Add in Ryder Cup and roll out one each year is definitely something TT could do with their top flight design teams that still stays true to the brand. Something to consider.

I agree that one of my favorite things about Titleist is they do not flood the market every year with “new” technology. My ts2 7 wood is still my favorite club and isn’t going anywhere. But the idea of a special edition bag for the Majors and Ryder cup is extremely intriguing to me. Maybe a special edition bag for one major a year and alternate Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup? I guess as a proud Louisville boy I would have loved to seen some bourbon barrels on a Titleist bag at Valhalla, especially since it’s a possibility the PGA may not come back.

I agree with the others who said thats not what Titleist is about. The brand is the brand baby, no gimmicks or showboating! Just the script life

I like the fact that Titleist stays with the classic clean lines on their staff bags.
  15. TM has probably made bags upon bags of money flogging their limited balls, headcovers, and bags for each major. They've almost become more of a marketing company than a golf company.

I am happy with the black and white with Titleist Script. The other bags are cool but what do you do with them.

I do love the classic black white and red Titleist, but an occasional special edition is nice - would be even cooler if they had random TT giveaways for TT members lol

Auctioning off a signed bag for a charity would be my preference over more "freebies" that people keep asking for. Maybe Folds of Honor donation or the PGA tour player's favorite charity.

It all sounds great until everyone sees the price tag on one of those specialty bags. If you've seen the prices the Scotty/Vokey bags get overseas, you'll understand. I have a Cameron specialty bag, paid more than it's worth, a high dollar storage bin for the backup set.

Titleist has a rather broad selection of consumer products, even before you get to specialty items like Team Titleist. I'd prefer they keep their efforts where they are currently. There are always great items available to purchase!

Other than 1 competitors strong 3-wood (the hottest fairway I've ever hit), I'm all in with TT.
