I have a very weak prescription, only about 20/25 so while I used to wear glasses while playing, I haven't in years. My only complaint when I did was on sunny days. I didn't really have too much of a problem with them fogging up.

I wear prescription Oakley sun glasses when I am on the course. The frames are durable and the lens technology that is out there these days are pretty impressive. You should take a look at it.

I started wearing glasses in the fourth grade, switched to contacts in high school, never looked back.I suggest you try different brands.I just switched brands and went from 20/30 to 20/20 with more comfort. Hope this helps .

I've wore contacts for 17 years. Last year, I was having some allergy issues and wore glass to the range. I was definitely having some depth perception issues....wasn't a fun range session.

I waited until my allergies cleared up.

I am a glasses wearer. If you are concerned about them sliding about, it helps to tuck the ends under your hat. Takes some pressure off your ears and sometimes seems more comfortable to me.

It helps to get a really good set of glasses too. Without insurance, I think my glasses and sunglasses cost more than my whole golf set. Thankfully I have good insurance.

I'm sure you've heard the argument for the cost of a Scotty Cameron. That since it is the club you use on just about every hole its worth the investment. How many holes do you think you will need your glasses?

Hey Eric! Great post. I wear glasses. Very heavy thick lenses because I'm basically blind without correction. I hated them slipping down. Drove me crazy because of the sweat. Especially here in Arizona. I moved to soft contact daily wear. They were the most comfortable, but the vision was not as sharp as I wanted it. I was going crazy not seeing the ball land. I finally went to a contact specialist. He told me to switch to gas permeable hard contacts. They drove me crazy for over a year until I got used to them. Sort of. So, that's what I'm wearing now. The vision is sharp but the irritation level is much higher. I hope this helps, but with horrible vision like I have, it's the best solution. Good luck!

I have diabetes and I have a pair of Oakley half jackets I play golf in with two sets of lenses clear for cloudy days and polarized tinted ones for sunny days they are extremely light and have quality nose and ear pieces that stay in place very well. Hope this helps.

As I don't like to wear any glasses on a golf round (not even sunglasses), I prefer to have contact lenses in.
With the glasses I'm always scared that they could slip away

I wear bifocals for every day tasks but when I play golf I wear a custom made Oakley Half Jacket that has the lens made for distance only. The tint is made specifically for golf called Golf Prism. They never fog up and are very comfortable to wear. These are by far the best glasses I own. I have no problems seeing the ball at address.

Ahh just wait until you have to get bi-focals! I've got a really light prescription (left eye is basically just clear) but I have a bad astigmatism. Without glasses I'm better playing with my right eye closed.
My eye doctor actually warned me when I got the progressives to watch that you don't tilt your head down to look over the bi-focal because it can restrict your swing.
I'm fine playing in my everyday glasses and I've adjusted to sunglasses after numerous pairs. I'm currently sportin' a pair from Costco! I don't much care for the look of Oakley's so that's not an option for me.
Honestly you get used to them and really don't notice them.

I will only play golf in my prescription sunglasses http://www.wileyx.com/ . No matter how cloudy or rainy, I will wear them when playing. When I was younger I wore contacts, but forgetting a case once on a baseball roadtrip and sleeping in them overnight all but put an end to contacts after that summer. I've tried a few different times to get comfortable with them with no luck. These are very durable and I had them fit a little bit more snug so I could feel free in swinging as hard as I wanted without the worry of them slipping. These have never been and issue no matter how hot or how sweaty I was or how hard I swung.

I wear glasses with bi-focals and progressive lenses and have no issue's. Just use to them I guess.

I also use to wear contacts when I was a Marathon runner due to glasses slipping. Went to my optometrist and had a real professional fitting of Frameless glasses and with the lightest lenses you could buy.
Now only glasses. Key was fit and weight.

Been wearing glasses most of my life and now have bi-focals. Can not use these on the course, because of the progressives, looking down everything blurry. I use Oakley prescriptions with distance only, they also have transition lens so tint adjust to sunlight/darkness. Keeps from wearing sunglasses on cloudy days or late evening rounds. Normally tips outside my hat, so less pressure on ears and prevents any slippage.

I found out I had astigmatism and needed prescription glasses about 15 years ago. Maybe eight years ago, I broke down and purchased prescription sun glasses. I promptly shot my low round of the year. It was amazing how much better I could see. Oh, and it was 100 degrees that day (low humidity, though).

I have been a sunglasses wearer for many years before that, so glasses aren't a big deal to me. If you have glasses with transitions, I say try them at the range before you go all out on prescription sunglasses. Be carefully with polarized lenses. Some say you lose your depth perception, especially for reading greens.
