    Hi all,

After several months looking online, I've taken the plunge and booked myself a fitting at Machynys GC at the weekend which is an Advanced Fitting Center with Trackman fitting which should be good, with the hope of purchasing a set of the AP1's or maybe the AP2's depending on the fi/feel etc.

Only one concern, when I asked approximately how long the fitting would take, the assistant Pro said it wouldn't take no longer than 30-40 minutes. Does this sound about right? I want to make sure that I pick and get fitted for the right clubs and I don't want to feel like I'm on the clock when getting fitted.

Anyone encountered this before or does any one have any idea how long it took them to get fitted properly?

    Cheers

    Scott

    Hi Scott

At the Titleist fitting centre at St Ives they allow 1 hour for fitting; 2 hours to go through the whole bag.

I would have thought the club where you are going to would allow you as much time as you want; You're the customer

    Regards

    Hi All,

Just thought I'd give a update to the story in case there's anyone else with the same worries.

Long Story short, I didn't end up getting fit at my home club due to the club pro being ill and off work for a while but I did get fitted. Turns out, 30-40 minutes is actually about right. Ryan, the chap who fitted was brilliant, he asked me lots of questions about my current game and the no pressure-no hard sell approach really helped me make my choice a lot easier. He also asked me ''what do I want out of my clubs?''... to which I replied ''I just want them to go straight and be consistent.'' :-) Overall, the fitting was A1!!

During the fitting, I tried a couple of other brands, but both were pumping out ridiculous, inconsistent numbers with high launch angles and also high spin rates. To my surprise, the pro put the True Temper Stiff shaft into the Titleist AP1's and they felt far superior to the others and best of all, they gave consistent numbers which were the lowest of all and also the dispersion was quite acute so overall I am very, very happy with the buy.. Just cant wait to get tout on the course and try them out.

Next question is... How long do the clubs roughly take to be manufactured to my spec and delivered?

    Kind Regards

    Scott
