I am 4 weeks in to my #Titleist718 AP1’s and loving them.

As a previous single figure golfer, I’m returning to the sport after 10 years out. I need an iron that is forgiving so that I can try and find my feet again, but also capable of helping me get back to where I was.

AP1’s are a perfect choice and I couldn’t be happier.

Bag set-up: 917D2 9.5*, 915fd 15*, 816h 21*, 718 AP1 5-48*, SM7 54, SM7 60, Scotty Cameron Futura 7M.

I now need to stop spending! ;)

Interesting Hybrid choice of 21 degree... in my fitting I had 19 and 23 818's .

Hi Ant,

My intention is to buy an 18* fairway wood so figured a 21* would be a good gap between that and the 24* 5 iron.

I hadnt hit a hybrid until this and I must admit that I am struggling a little to get to grips with it, hence only wanting one in the bag.

I'm gaming the AP1's. Found these were the best club for me both on the TT iron invitation day I attended with you and a recent Titleist Thursday Fitting.

I had wanted the AP3's initially but the AP1's performed much better for me particularly with my strike patterns which tend to edge towards the toe. Dispersion front to back was much tighter than my existing clubs. I had also stopped playing a 5 iron but the AP1 5 iron is ridiculously easy to hit

The AP1's do not look like a game improvement iron, the scoring clubs in particular are very sleek and suit my eye.

Specs are below, really looking forward to putting them in play. I also updated hybrids and wedges to fit the lofts. Bit of room left at the top of the bag for a 919 or two :). Will upload an image when I get them.

+1" Longer, 4 Upright. Jumbo Grips

Really excited and looking forward to trying them out. I will post back again in a week or so, I was really pleased with them during demos/fitting etc Cant wait to go and play with them : )

They really do look pretty. Would like to try them at address as there bound to have a thicker top line than the ap2 which I really like behind the ball.

Hi all I’m using the ap1’s and I’m over the moon with them,fantastic clubs who have me back in love with this frustrating game I have 5-gw and I’m looking for a 4 iron as I’m not the best with my 21* 915h I just want to see how I fair with the shorter length iron,I also have 917d,sm5 wedges and scotty squareback putter all kept safe in my titleist cart bag.

But trying to find a second hand 4 iron is very difficult..

Saw the thread and thought I’d get involved. Currently playing the 716 ap2 irons. Tried the ap1’s when I got fitted but liked the softer feel of the ap2’s and was able to easily change ball flight. Did you with the idea of popping a 4 iron in the bag for those longer approaches into the green.

Found a 4 iron just waiting patiently for its arrival.......hopefully I can hit it better and more consistently than my hybrid.

I posted this in another thread a while back but......during an iron fitting last year I hit the AP1 and honestly couldn't believe how hot they were - would definitely recommend for anyone who struggles with distance, flight or dispersion.

I personally use AP2's but my colleague and partner has recently moved to AP1's after a fit at the TT Turnberry event

Unfortunately for me it has transformed his game!!!
Seriously though, on the evidence I have seen I would recommend being fit into AP1's to anyone looking to improve their game
He will probably keep his success secret....David Howe is his name and he is now a real handful to play against!!!

As my partner in crime and personal caddy Mr Denton has been so kind to reply to your request. It is true, I had a fitting at the Team Titleist Turnberry event in October last year and immediately went and purchased the 718 AP1 irons from 6 through to 53% wedge. The TT fitter Nick Sharples recommended Shaft (Flex): Mitsubishi Tensei Pro Red AMC (Regular)and since then my game has improved so much, I've had to start declaring the winnings from Geoff on my Tax returns !!
Seriously, for an improvement club these are the clubs to use and also I totally endorse getting personally fitted, as this makes such a difference as well. Having the clubs do what you expect them to do and giving you confidence standing over the ball is as important as a good swing.

Looking forward to this years TT jaunt, and a summer playing with the clubs.

4iron being delivered Monday. I am now like my son on Christmas Eve. Lol. Sad I know.
Can’t wait until nxt wkends Golf even more now.

Had the new 4 iron out to the range today and the hybrid is now in the “spare club bag” great flight and distance..........easy to get up and out there.....hope it’s the same on the course.
