over the years I've sent many a putter to Scotty's "spa" for restoration and customisation, mainly when I was collecting them and there was a better exchange rate and the prices were more reasonable, the cost of customisation/restoration isn't cheap, buts here's a few guidelines which might help.
If you go for restoration, every putter returned comes back like new, honestly the finish on their work is exceptional, a tip, if you go for this then they will fit a new shaft and you only need to send the head off which can be easily removed and will save you on outgoing postage.
If you go for customisation only any blemishes on you putter will remain but they will redo the paint fill, fit new grips and shafts, fit sightlines stamps etc. If you look on the Scotty Cameron website you can use their interactive tools and in most cases plan and see exactly how your putter will look.
You will need to set up an account and log on to set up an order, it will calculate the costs of your customisation and shipping costs to return it to you, in most cases you will also have to pay FedEx VAT and their admin fee for collecting this when you receive it back in the UK, so add 20% plus the admin cost of around £15 to your costs.
I've always used Royal Mail to send them in, I used to send them in pairs as it reduces the unit costs of shipping as SC will send two in each box.
The process takes about two months for restoration, a bit shorter if its just customisation.

Can appreciate both your love of a putter and your ambition to customise it.
My local range has a couple of Limited Edition Scotty Camerons on offer at £1200/£1500 each.
If either ever became mine, they wouldn't need customising or refurb as I think I would
be very reluctant to take them out of the house!
At the same time, they were built to be used and I'm not a collector, so it's unlikely I would go to that
sort of price no matter how sweet it was!

I sent my 2004 Scotty Cameron studio design 1.5 away to get refurbished and customised after the shaft broke about 3 years ago. The putter was away around 2 months and cost about £250 all in for the refurb, new shaft, new grip, new head over and custom work. It’s the best money I’ve spent on a club, it looks amazing and I love that unique and personal.

As mentioned I had the shaft pulled to save on P&P.
I have today sent my 2018 squareback and 2016 Futura X7 so will keep everyone updated and send pictures when they come through.
