Yep my club did this last season but unfortunately didn’t get a lot of players so not sure if it’s on this season.......but yeh great wee challenge.

I love the idea and would like to see more access to 9 hole games as a whole. It may only be an option at less busy times, but having a 9 hole green fee would perhaps enable more 'casual' golfers to play without having to commit to a full 18 holes.

For members of clubs to be able to submit cards for 9 hole qualifiers would certainly suit me, as I'd be able to perhaps do an after work 9. My current club has a summer 9 hole roll up which could lend itself to this and my previous club did similar.

Anything that gets me out more has to be good and if it makes golf more accessible, then I'm all for it.

My club ran some 9 holes on a Friday around tea time last year with mixed success.
Some were short while others were over-subscribed.
Not easy for the Handicap (inc Comps) Committee to gauge take up and set future frequency.
Any who played seemed to enjoy it.

My current club ran 9 hole comps all last season. Only qualifying for players above cat1 status.
All resulted in ridiculous scores winning as per the norm for Stableford comps.

I think that’s a great idea to squeeze in a extra game
