    I’ve always used pro v but interested to move to the AVX ball anyone done this and what’s the pros and cons thanks

    Similar to myself, and would love to hear feedback.

    my ball type is the ProV1x. (been for a ball fitting through Titleist over a year ago), and would be interested in hearing how the AVX compares or differs.

    Low spinning beast, catch a flyer with it and you'll know all about it when if flys 30 thru the back, it's a no from me.

    Similar thing happened to me, I was given a couple to try along side some new Pro V1s by Anthony Williams at a recent fitting session I attended, I tried both side by side, the AVX didn't offer me any improvement over the Pro V1, and I did get a flyer as mentioned by Stuart, so I've stayed with the Pro V1.
    Having said that one of my playing partners who plays off a handicap of three loves the AVX and has played with them for months.
    I suggest you pick up a sleeve of three and try them both on the course.

    Sorry Stuart but I think this ball is great , great feel of both the driver and the putter , feels softer than the PROVs

    I'm not disagreeing with you, it does feel great I totally agree, but again, I'll say, you'll know all about it if you get a flyer with it, been there done that, straight back in the bag after that hole. There isn't a single European Tour pro who games it, if it's not good enough for them, then who am I to argue.

    Only tried the AVX for a couple of rounds - as Stuart M says, it certainly goes!! I've also been using the Tour Soft after a recommendation whilst having the AP3 fitting - got given a dozen for free and to be honest I'm quiet happy with them off tee and around the green, good price also.

    I was using the tour softs also but after getting fitted for a TS2 I was told to try the pro v1x and I’ll only play a tour soft now if I loose all my pro v1x and have none in the bag I can’t get the same response out of the tour softs around the greens.....

    I've been using the AVX since it came out as I was using a high spin driver (not Titleist) and the AVX did help. Since I've been using my 917D I've carried on using the AVX but have used up Pro V1 and X I had.

    The AVX is better in the wind that the V1 and X and about the same as the V1 around the green (softer than X) but you do get less bite/stop that the V1. If got some 2019 V1 which I haven't had a chance to compare with the AVX yet but will post when I have.

    The best you can do is get a fitting or if you compare with the V1cant try some start around the green and work back to the tee. Don't forget to try in windy conditions.

    I’m a pro v man nothing comes close.
    But on a couple of occasions last year during high winds and pouring rain, I played the yellow AVX ball.
    It preformed unbelievable, lower trajectory that the pro v, flying a little bit further than pro v, the only down side was it didn’t feel as soft as pro v around the green on short shots for my liking.

    I bought a dozen on the advice of an AG “expert” shortly after they were released. I really struggled to keep them in the greens in the hot dry conditions last summer. I then had a Titleist ball fitting and was told that I don’t generate enough iron spin to justify using the AVX and was fitted into the X. I now benefit from the extra spin of the X and have no problems keeping my irons on the greens.

    Stuart I agree as I had two driver fittings at different stores on the same day with AG, two different head models and on R and one S shaft...I asked the 2nd fitter to explain.... I'd played 9 holes in the morning so was warmed up.

    At the time both head models were due for replacement hence each store was shifting their stock...possibly the same with AVX as those not in the know don't know what they are...If it isn't Pro V1 it isn't Titleist, Right?


    To be fair there are probably some decent guys working there...

    Keep meaning to have a bash at AVX - This has whetted my appetite so off to my local supplier (NOT AG!!!) tomorrow.
    Thanks to all the experiences above, I know what I'll be looking for on the course.

    I moved to the AVX last year because I’m generally a high ball hitter with too much spin on my irons. I play links golf as well so the reduced spin and more penetrating flight is great. I love the soft feel from it as well.

    Don’t think I could temp moving away from the PRO VX. Sticking to what I know.
