  1. Having seen a few videos on YouTube of people trying the new U510 1 iron, I am really keen to have a go at a demo day.

For years I had 1 iron in my bag, but as they fell out of favor with the manufacturers, I moved to hybrids and utility clubs.

I did have a TMB 2 iron and it was perfect in certain windy conditions and links golf.

I cannot work out if I just want a 1 iron back in the bag to say I have a 1 iron or stay with my current 818H2 hybrid.

    Anyone else thinking the same?

  2. It is cool to have a 1 or 2 iron in the bag but I'd struggle like mad to hit them lol.

I have a t-MB 2 iron, sometimes it's in the bag sometimes it's out but when you middle them they go for miles, problems come when you don't.

I used to love my 2 iron, but parked it years ago when I got a hybrid.
I'm not losing touch with the hybrid so it would be good to try out one of the new utility irons to see how it fits in my bag.
  5. I've got an old 1 iron but it's been hiding in the garage for some time. It gets as far as an occasional swing in the garden but nothing more these days.
Would be looking for the U500/U510 at the top of the bag, replacing my T-MB.
Looking forward to testing & fitting.

Although it’ll never be as useful to me as a hybrid ... I still want to put the new 1 iron in the bag haha

Currently have a 2 iron which is useful off the tee and in certain situations but hybrids will always perform better for me.

The new U500 and U510 look VERY nice! I can’t wait to hit them and undoubtedly put one in the bag!

I’ve carried a 2 iron for most of my golfing life. I swap it in & out depending on the course and conditions with a 818 h2, sometimes carrying both and dropping my 50deg on the very rare occasion. The new u500/510 look classy and I will definitely be giving them a try.

I'm definitely going to add U·500 3-iron to the kit. Ball goes high, far, and stops which will be solid off the tee or approaches on par 5s; which wouldn't necessarily be the case for the T100 3-iron for me. If you like hitting long irons and want some more height and forgiveness, 500/510 are definitely NOT a vanity solution.
  9. Choice of clubs in the bag are dependent upon many things including the weather and the course being played.
I play mostly links golf and some people may recommend a 1 iron. But its lower ball flight can work both ways.
One needs to remember that a lower flight usually results in a longer run once it lands. A running ball usually ends up only doing one thing, running into trouble.
A 1 iron may earn it's place on windy days or a short course. But a higher flying hybrid may sometimes be preferential when fairways are dry and running.
  10. Has anyone tried and bought the U510 yet?
