    Huddersfield,

Never had an ace but this is as close as I’ve been for a long time! The shot measured 103 yards on the scope, and punched in a gap wedge. Thought it was in for a brief moment!

Also hit the pin a couple of times and they're the unluckiest as they always seem to deflect to the side with the trickiest putt.

Interestingly enough, I've never been "close" to having a hole in one, when I say close, never been inside 4 feet but bizarrely enough, I've had 3 holes in one, go figure.

That’s awesome, if a little greedy!

I have never had one but I have hit the hole on several occasions, hit dead on top of the stick, hit the flag and it drop down behind the hole, finished within inches of the hole and although I never saw it, i lipped out at a charity event.

Maybe I am not supposed to get a hole in one
  10. Have hit the flagstick, the flag, dropped one on the top of the flagstick, even hit a tree behind the green and rebounded to inches from the hole but never "Aced".
Have seen a friend hit two aces with hybrid-mishit-wormburners... One day, perhaps...

  11. I too have never managed an ace on a par 3 - been very close many times. However, almost exactly 25 years ago, I was working in NZ and managed a hole in one on a 258m par 4 at Karori GC in Wellington. I was in the last group of a big club comp and the captain was putting as my ball rolled in (local protocol always allowed groups to tee off even if others were still putting)- all I could see was his rear end so never saw it go in.

It was a Titleist balata ball, struck by my png Zing 2 one iron - it was also the first official hole in one on that hole in the clubs 21 year history (I got there one month before someone else did in a round of 110!). The club took the ball and presented it back to me on a base carved from one of course trees - I still have it somewhere as I do the one iron.

A great day to achieve two ambitions - a hole in one and an albatross! Doubled the subsequent par 3 though!

Only one more roll, and the outcome would have been perfect!

  15. Look on the bright side guys. The how close ones make a better photo than the actual aces.

Please see picture below I know it's not great but was taken at The Seniors Open at Royal Porthcawl a few years ago how close are those two.

We followed this pair and at the next par 3 one of them had a hole in one(no photo)
