  1. Just about to purchase a new set of Titleist irons, handicap is 15 but hit ball a lot better than that and find sweet spot more often than not. Any ideas on picking the T100 irons over the stronger lofted T200 or wait until the T100’s are released next month. Any players with similar handicap using T100?

  2. Hi Richard,

The best thing to do would be to try them all out at a Titleist Thursday event which will be starting again in the coming weeks. That way you can try them out for yourself and get to see how you hit them.

You can find the schedule here www.titleist.co.uk/.../thursdays

More dates are being added every week.
  3. Richard,
    I'm still on the previous generation - 718 AP's - but I've got a combination of AP2 & AP3.
The stronger AP3 is very helpful in 5, 6, 7 irons while the softer AP2 is great at the short end of the bag.
The shafts are the same (in my case True Temper ATP Red) through the irons and they are all 2 degrees flat so the general feeling is synchronised.
You might find a combo approach in the T series is a viable option to consider when you try out these clubs as the price per iron is the same.

  4. Hi there thanks for the replies, I was thinking about having a combo set, tested T100 and T200 other day and T200 felt a lot better and easier to hit the sweet spot but T100 were very good and not that much different. But now T100’s are coming out next month, I will wait and se what they are like. Don’t seem to be any Titleist Thursdays near me in Cardiff.

    Totally Agree.

heading to a demo day next week and one of the answers I am looking for is how to best combine the T100 and T200 to match lofts, where to make the switch (6 or 7 iron) and will the T100s fit onto the combo option better.

    god help the fitter. lol
  6. Hi Luke, with the Titleist Thursdays, what is the set up like? Do you have to purchase from them and do you get discount if you do? What balls do they use and do they hit of grass or mats? I have read lots of different things but none are consistent. I’m looking to get new irons, hybrid or driving iron and maybe a new driver too. How long do you get with them?

    Hi Richard,

Check out the link in Luke's post all the details are there...

Lots of questions about the Titleist Thursdays... 1. There is no obligation to buy on the day and your fitting details are emailed to you buy the fitter 2. Sometimes there is a discount by the club hosting and Titleist (my TS hybrid was just £199 saving £50 on RRP and £30 from my pro and cheapest online). 3. Mats or grass depends on the venue, but if it's mats ask to try them off the grass and they'll most likely let you if conditions allow. 4. It will be local range balls, but trackman will normalise, so if you can get to a national fitting centre the full range of Titleist balls are available for your fitting. 5. If you're going for full bag fitting you need to get in quick once dates are announced so you can book a couple of 45 min sessions.

Celtic Manor has been a location in the past and they have a date TBC if not Long Ashton in Bristol has dates in March and April that you can book now.

Hope you get a chance soon and those clubs are in your bag...

  8. There is no obligation to purchase from the host venue, you will be emailed the specs to take away with you and purchase from wherever you like (if you find something you want to buy that is!). Most venues we use Pro V1/Pro V1x but this may not be possible at some driving ranges.

Each appointment is 45 minutes which will allow you to be fitted for one category. If you're wanting more than just one you will need to book additional appointments.

    Hope this helps!
  9. Hi Richard,

Further to your question and Luke's comments about what balls are used, I attended a Titleist Thursday event at a driving range where it wasn't possible to use premium balls for the whole fitting. However, once the fitter felt he had the right sort of set up for me, he pulled out some old Pro V1s that he didn't mind hitting on the range and never seeing again, just so we could confirm the numbers with a premium ball. He even made a recommendation that I switch to Pro V1 from Pro V1x to help reduce my spin numbers slightly.

It's a great service that I would highly recommend.

    Hi All
I underwent a comprehensive custom fitting with Mark O’Mahoney at Carton House (Titleist National Fitting Centre) yesterday Friday 21st February. I am playing the T300 in the Red ATM R300 but the T400 iron is amazing.
Mark only had the T400 7 iron but on a direct comparison between the T300 7 iron and the T400 7 iron, I gained 15 yards. OK, I do a acknowledge that the T400 is 3 degree stronger than the T300 but 15 yards is still very significant. I hit my T300 6 iron but the T400 iron still outperformed the T300.

Launch, decent angle and spin with the T400 were all within acceptable parameters.
I ordered the full set of T400 in the Recoil shaft as the “feel” was superb.

Unless you are a very good and consistent ball striker go with the T300 or the T400 as the T100 is unforgiving.
    Go get custom fitted.
  11. Hi there, thanks for all your replies. I’m def going to have whole new set of irons, with either rescue or driving iron and now most prob a driver too. If I can get in at Celtic manor, that would be ideal as close to me. I will try and book 2 sessions if I can. It’s something about Titleist that makes me think it’s the best quality, best performance and a premium brand. I’ve already ordered my new premium stadry jet black cart bag. Its good to know that i get all my specs emailed to me so can buy at my local club and save me going for a fitting there and maybe not getting exactly the clubs suited to me.

Any ideas if the T100’s are still going to be available for fitting around the 12th March and orders ready for end of March?

I too am from cardiff ( play at Cottrell park) and have been to a titleist Thursday fitting at the celtic manor twice last year, one for driver ( ended up with a TS 3 ordered on the day with £40 off) and also for a Scotty Cameron putter fitting( ordered the futura 5s on the day), both experiences were fantastic with the same titleist fitter, can highly recommend, I am waiting for the new t100's to be available to have another fitting to upgrade my old AP2's (712) so give a go mate you won't be disappointed

  14. I’m a member of Cottrell park too, well until end of this month and then leaving. Sounds like it’s worth going for a full bag of new clubs then. I want the T100’s which are released on 12th March for fitting and delivery around 27th March, that’s why I’m waiting so I can test The T100, T100’s and the T200 at same time. I’m going from AP1 716 uprgrade and tried the T100 the other day and they were good but think the T100’s will be just abit better for me. What is the TS3 driver like? I have the epic sub zero and going to test Titleist drivers too.

There are some really good comments in this feed, A really good read.

One thing is for sure, your in good hands if you make it to a Titleist Thursday event, or have you thought about going to one of the fitting centres.

I visited St Ives fitting centre though it was for a woods fitting but Eva way no stone is unturned. Right down to the smaller details.

Good luck in finding your perfect set up.

TS3 is great for me, I half expected to be fitted for the TS2, but after trying both heads with different shafts TS3 was better for me because the fitter could set the weights to a draw bias to reduce my natural fade/slice so was more accurate and just as long, as I said earlier was a great experience with these guys really knowing their stuff
Couldn't recommend them highly enough, I don't think I would ever buy clubs again without being fitted, good luck with your golf
