  1. So with all this rain and on and off hospital appointments I think I’ve had about 6 weeks off!

Now the pros obviously play week in week out day by day etc

But for us mear mortals is there a thing as to much golf?

The reason I ask is I managed to get out today and had a fantastic round, I felt fresh and was thinking about my game

Just before all the bad weather I felt I had gone in a robotic mode with bad habits I had forgotten about which we’re getting ingrained into my game

Although my heart and head want to play every day I really think the 6 weeks off has done me a world of good

  2. A couple of years ago I never played for over a year and finally managed to get out and play and couldn’t believe how well I was playing and although short game wasn’t amazing, score was good and should of been best ever, so I think you right sometimes a break can be good to clear out all the swing thoughts.

Had a break over Christmas till the last week in February, come back and feel great. I felt myself thinking to much about every little thing I was doing and not just getting up and hitting the ball lol

I had a couple weeks off due to heavy rain and 50mph winds at the beginning of February and to be honest it did me a world of good. I had been carrying a bit of a shoulder injury and it gave it a chance to heal. Missed playing so much but i came back desperate to play well and did so. A new set of T100 irons may have had some influence in that too though..

Apologies to all those who have been affected by the course closures....

I'd get out and play everyday if I could. If I'm not playing I'm thinking of my next round or putting indoors with YouTube or Podcasts on.

There have been a couple of postponed rounds this year and I've headed off to the range, something I rarely do these days, or the local AG to have a look around.

In fact I've just got back from the course where I've had a practice round with a mate in prep for tomorrows rearranged winter league match. The practice has been to ingrain the good habits but like us all the bad ones reappear when least want them to.

I've had breaks for injury and they have been hellish so as long as I can get to and get around the course every day is a potential golf day.
