    Hi Team,

I am considering getting a U510 2 iron. I have hit a few times and really like the flight and feel.

I just wanted to know if anyone has experience of the U510 and how they have got on with it?

My biggest concern is hitting the U510 out of rough compared to how easy it is to hit a hybrid out of the rough.

    Thanks, Stephen

  2. Stephen,
Have the U500 and love it to bits. I tend to use it as a "strategic" club off the tee and now think more about what I select rather than merely grabbing the driver. I use it occasionally off the fairway/first cut on long holes - particularly into the wind - but tend to use something more user-friendly such as a hybrid from the deeper rough.

  3. My father just bought a 3 iron 510 and ditched the hybrid. He hits it well off the tee and loves it in the rough...he would definitely advise you to go for it if he was in this forum
  4. Always nice to have options

I took delivery of U510 2 iron the weekend before lockdown so not had much of a chance to use it yet. The few times i hit it, I was really impressed by the feel and it goes long...........I play at Carnoustie so a great option for off the tee rather than driver
  6. Just picked up an immaculate "used" U510 (4) as I have always deep down known I don't like hybrids. Anyway, been in home garden net today and I love it already. Came with the Hazardous Smoke shaft. Seriously considering getting a 2 or 3 now. Playing Friday, so looking forward to see what the flight is like....
  7. I have all 3 of them coming in my new set, perfect fitting and gapping. A U500 4 iron and U510 3 iron and TS2 Hybrid which gives that little extra on rough and of the tee.

Was fit a few weeks ago for the U510 2 iron, lovely weapon, shall be ordering it soon. Will chop and change with my hybrid, was looking for a more penetrating ball flight in the wind.

U510 hands down is probably one of my favourite clubs in the bag saying that I don't use it often out of rough so I can't comment much about that but off the tee and the fairway is a rocket
  10. So after few rounds in with the u510 4 - it performed really well off tee (par 3 mainly) and also off fairway and out of rough. I liked it so much i picked up a 3 also with the Hazardous Smoke shaft this time in 6.0. This club flies high and long and i love it - unlucky for my hybrid, that's back in the shed.

I have the U510 2 iron and it's really good off the tee but i definitely don't hit it as good as a hybrid out of the semi rough

Hi Stephen, I recently had the same dilemma albeit with a U510 3iron. I had nearly a 40 yard gap between my 4 iron and 5 wood and really liked the feel of the U510, which worked really well for me off the tee.

I had a fitting with Chris Courtneidge from Titleist and we spend the best part of an hour trying both the TS3 Hybrid and U510 from all sorts of lies and there was no doubting how excellent the U510 was. However, despite both working for me in terms of 'fitting the gap' I settled for the Hybrid as we both felt it would be more versatile for 'me'.

I really wanted the 510 and although others on here have said they had no problem hitting it out of the rough, I think you should try them both for yourself to see.

    Stephen,
Did you buy and are you hitting the 2 iron? My Titleist fitter recommended I avoid a hybrid (due to a high hook) and go for the U510 3 iron. I bought the 3I a few months ago and it replaced my T200 4I. I then replaced my 3 wood with the U510 1I. I picked up a U510 4I to replace my T200 5I. I couldn't find the 2I locally so I ordered and received it from the PGA Superstore in Palm Desert, CA (near Palm Springs). The 2I was obviously to fill the gap between the 1 and 3. I've never hit any 5 or 3 woods as well as I hit the U510 irons. I hit the 1I really well (pipeline straight or slight draw) and it would have chased the driver out of my bag but a golf bag just doesn't look right without a driver! On Saturday, 17 Oct 2020, an older guy (70s) who was sitting in the shade of a tree stopped me as I was leaving after finishing a practice session. He asked what iron I was just hitting. I held up one finger and said, "that was my 1 iron". He said he had stopped his session to watch me hit and then asked how I could hit the ball that high that went that far. I said, "that was the Titleist U510 16 degree 1 iron. It has extra tungsten weighting in the sole to allow for higher flights and I simply move the ball forward in my stance to increase the loft but still get the distance I need." Sounds like a commercial but it's true! Anyway, hope you found your 2 iron!
  14. I have the U500 2 iron and since buying it have ditched the hybrid altogether. Brilliant club both off the tee and off the deck and no problems hitting out of the rough.
