I wanted to see how many people on here changed from one ball to the other when the characteristics of the balls changed last year?

For me the Pro V1 always was the softer feeling ball and had a higher ball flight, the Pro V1x was still a soft ball but was a bit firmer and always felt a bit 'clicky' to me and was the ball I used when it was windy due to it's penetrating flight.

When they changed, the Pro v1 had the more penetrating flight and the Pro v1x had the higher flight so I was caught between the two.

I've also noticed more of the tour players switching out of the X and going to the '1' so interested to hear peoples thoughts on this.

I switched from the ProV1 to ProV1x. I need the added height and spin. It took me a while to adjust to the firmer feel on chips and putts but now I am used to it.

Dale that's interesting, have you noticed the added spin?

Had a ball fitting great experience I changed from the V1 to the X less spin of the driver increased numbers on every club on putting every premium ball behaves the same are the difference is negligible.
To me the fitting was worth the time and to see the results then had a club fitting with that ball at St Ives which you see the numbers based on your equipment.

Before the 2017 revolutionary change, I used the AVX. The X felt too hard and the AVX had better length than the V with irons (more roll). The 2017 X was still too hard to suit me and the V was definitely longer than the AVX. I had a chance to use the pre-release 2021 X (and V). I'm considering the X for the coming version, due to feel around the green and approach shot window.

I also moved to TS1 driver and T400 irons, and that has also been a factor in how the balls play. How you can put the ball in the hole better is the best choice.

I switched back to the 1 from the x. Like the 1 for the shots into the greens. Like the softer feel.

Honestly, I really can't tell much of a difference and I'd like to think I'm not a bad player off of 5.

    I've got 7 dozen prov1 and 1 dozen x, I'll get through them eventually.

I used to prefer the X, my experience of it being more penetrating flight, slightly lower spin and a little longer.
My default is now the Pro V1, but happy to use the X - particularly in the summer when ground is firm and greens a little burnt out.
  9. I am new to this so if I say anything not right please do not jump on me. I play using pro v1 which I have been doing so for about seven years now, my handicap is 16.6 but I find pro vs go further and they are superb for holding the greens I seem to get a lot of spin with them also. I lose quite a few balls a month but I have a friend who looks for golf balls and sells them to us, could not afford to be losing New Pro Vs on a regular basis. I have tried other brands of balls but pro vs are by far the best ball for me. Thank you

I also use the ProV1x for the added height as I don't put a lot of spin on the ball I need all the help I can get.

I’m the same and made the switch when the characteristics changed. At first the slightly firmer feel and sound off the clubface was a bit of a concern, but you soon adjust.
