  1. Only just joined Titleist Team. I’m relatively new to golf and about to join a golf club. Does anyone have experience with Titleist golf balls that are most suitable for beginners. I’ve had a couple of lessons from a pro and can hit my drive about 175 yards and iron shots about 100 - 150 yards

All the Titleist balls are great. My suggestion would be to play the best you can afford. If you do not lose many and can afford the ProV series, those will perform the best for you. If you are still struggling with hitting it straight or over water and tend to lose a lot of balls, maybe go with one of the lower priced Titleist balls until you get a bit more consistent. Best of luck and hope you enjoy the journey.

    Welcome to Team Titleist !!

If you are new to golf I would suggest something a Velocity or Trufeel ball until you get to understand the feel of the ball you like best (softer or harder). After that it is then finding the ball you like best and sticking with the same ball as this can be the biggest variation in your equipment.

Titleist used to do ball fitting events which I am sure will be back next year some time.

As Dale suggests but also consider getting a ball fitting the next time Titleist are fitting in you area.
  5. Hey welcome to this awesome forum & the great game

I feel you'd be better off trying loads of different types of balls all the Titleist models are fantastic but to start with you might wonna go really cheap because chances are if your like me you will loose plenty of balls.

Might be an idea to buy secondhand balls to start with.

I agree with Alex 100%. Second hand golf balls are available everywhere.

  7. Definitely agree with some of the other posts. Just keep trying different brands [sorry Titleist]/types of balls until you feel comfortable with one. It's all down to personal preference and unless you're a low handicapper, which I am far from, expensive golf balls don't improve your game, it just adds unnecessary pressure as you get too concerned about losing £3 a pop. Keep persevering :)

I am coming back to golf after a long break and I am loving the Titleist range of balls - I am currently focused on keeping the ball in the fairway - While I worry about not losing these balls, I had to invest in ProV1s and AVX as they are proving more consistent for me, off the tee.
It was the comments on these forums that convinced me this investment is worthwhile, and my game and enjoyment of golf has come along in leaps and bounds

What ball works for some may not work for you, It becomes a personal thing. First try the cheaper range they are all good balls, the reason I suggest that is because as you are a beginner the last thing you want is to be losing expensive golf balls , (we have all been guilty of doing that) then experiment with them. When you become a better golfer, which I'm sure you will, then move on to something better to find your true preference.
    In the mean time Enjoy.
  10. I’ve just been playing for a year. I loose a lot of balls. For now I buy second hand titleist balls. They work great
  11. Since i've played with Titleist I've used the Tour Soft. It's not only a very good balI but it's not that expensive so if I do lose any it's not that big of a kick in the teeth. I've also found the alignment aid for the putter is an added bonus. Don't know if its actually effecting anything but I have been holing a lot more since I've been using it.
  12. Honestly to start with go second hand like many others have said. The entire Titleist range is the best out there so I'd try find them second hand normally classed as lake balls and then when you can keep a ball the entire round a few times buy a fresh pack it's one of the best feelings. You really don't want to be worried about losing a ball when you walk up to it as a very new beginer.
