With Christmas just a few weeks off and playing golf for the first time in quite a few weeks, has anyone got any new equipment on there list? Ive fallen out with my hybrid and put my 4 iron back in the bag, so might have to try the u500 plus if ive been good i might have to get a new lob wedge after trying to hit by ball out of a drainage ditch full of pebbles and now the leading edge isnt looking to pretty.

  2. Omg weird I gave up on my 816 hybrids and bought a 21°Wilson staff utility which is a 4 iron in my set of AP1 718 irons.

It's so safe off the tee absolutely love it and that says a lot because it's not Titleist.

If your not buying for yourself being a golfer at Christmas can be very interesting!! I need to sort out hybrid/driving iron and lob wedge but sorted though the rest of the bag after a refresh this year. Hoping for a new range finder and a few other bit though. As long as there is no M&S golfer gift packs :-)

Seem to get some dodgy gifts from non golfing family members, funny though
  5. Far be it for me to suggest that some people buy based on price - Who they are buying for seems to be a secondary consideration....

  6. Antony,
Bear with me, I'll get to the point eventually....
As my course was closed for the second day running, I went to Foregolf in Chester to use the range.
The fitting studio was free for twenty mins so I snuck in with Lewis and turned on the Trackman.
The object of the exercise was to move up from the yardage from my hybrid.
Created a beast with a TSi fairway 3 wood on a Tensii 5 wood shaft. Absolutely loved it...
Went miles (perhaps a bit too high, even off the deck??) but further and straighter than my TS3 driver!!
We'll need to go back for a longer session to fine tune my requirement but I can't imagine my bag will be lacking a fairway wood for much longer.
So to (eventually) answer your question, Father Christmas can bring me a TSi Fairway (I'm prepared to wait if he's awaiting stocks!!).

i had made myself a 4 wood 917 head and 5 wood shaft combo and it was an animal. would hit it as far as my driver. sadly the shaft finally gave up. it was from an older 913 . diamana s62 shaft. been on the hunt for another ever since but considering having a fitted for a new tsi fairway and driver
  8. Sam,
    Like your style...
Suggest you give the 3wood head/5 wood shaft a twirl - I found it smashing (literally!) - the best combination I've tried in recent years. I've had drivers with 3 wood shafts and experimented with all sorts of different options.
I'm really not comfortable with the current offering of whopping great 460cc driver heads and I know for certain that the Bryson option of a 48" driver shaft is not for me!
I think I was most comfortable with a small headed metal driver on a steel shaft or a persimmon. I hit it as far as the modern stuff and the sound/feel was better.
So it's the three wood for me - the head suits my eye better... and it's half the price of the driver!

well i need to make my choice fairly pronto, i got offered a good price for my 917 d2 driver that i couldnt ignore.. so i sold it with the intentions of picking up an ex demo ts driver for pretty much same money, sadly both sold today when i went to pick it up! sods law. ah well, im going to demo the tsi2 tomorrow but not sure i can justify nor afford the whopping £500 for it

Nothing club-wise for me I’m afraid as that would be way above current budgets.
However, I do need new wedges to replace my tired SM6s and am happy to provide my specs...

No hardware for me but just some FJ bits and bobs really.

    Socks, gloves, jumpers.

Let’s see what Santa brings me
  13. Having replaced all the contents of my bag at the end of last year, excluding my Scotty, for me it is just the winter mittens (my partner received a delivery today....) and a USB hand-warmer to help me through the winter golfing.
  14. After getting my set - up fully Overalled this October,a couple of boxes of V1x's maybe. But the One thing I would really like to add to my bag would be the Driver,3 Wood and Hybrid Knitted Pom Pom Headcovers set. But can't find them Anywhere, searched high and low. Merry Christmas and Hopefully happy and healthy New year to you all at Team Titleist. Happy Golfing.
  15. I'd like a Players 4 golf bag (preferably the grey one) as my current TM bag is looking tired. I prefer to carry my bag and as this Players 4 bag is lightweight it'd be ideal, wouldn't it Santa? :)
