  1. I Was playing yesterday hit my first shot and whilst putting the head cover back on my driver on the shaft snapped right at the hosel

My question is how likely is it that this was already damaged and I just didn’t know?

how likely is it to happen again?

Should I replace my shaft or get fitted for the TSI?

  2. Luke,

Won't you need to repair your current asset to get some value from it, particularly in the event of part-ex'ing for a TSi...?
Friend of mine did the same with a png 410 and got a refit shaft from them for £70.

The hosel is the most likely area of a shaft to snap as this has the most stress. If this was caused by putting the headcover back on then i would image is would of been weakened from something else. You can get a replacement on Ebay pretty cheap, but the TSi is an amazing driver. Depends on budget.
  4. Yeah I get what your saying I think I’m just going to get a new shaft then upgrade to the TSI later in the year
    Thanks for the reply

also, looking at it, alot of club pro's could repair that or do it yourself, gently warm the the ferrule and whats left of the adapter and pull it off. You must not twist it though as you will damage the fibres under the epoxy. on ebay there are a few club builders that sell the adapters and epoxy and you can repair yourself and some offer the service to do it all. depends on the shaft though as maybe just as cheap to get a replacement unles it was an upcharged shaft

You cant repair that, the last 1.25" of the shaft is broken off in the adapter. If you put a new adapter on there the shaft would be stiffer at the tip and be almost 3 wood length.
Get a new shaft from ebay if you are planning keeping it.

yeah good point, ive just looked at the spare adapter i have here and didnt realise how much it actually goes inside.. but as you have said the shaft would still be salvageable for a fairway wood or a tip trimmed short driver :)

Check out eBay, there's a number of shafts fitted with Titleist adaptors available many are from ex demo stock at reasonable prices, you might get lucky and purchase the exact shaft.
