I purchased in December new TSi3 Driver (custom order) with Premium shaft Graphite Design AD XC 5 Stiff. When I compared distance with my old Driver TS3 with PX Hzrdus Smoke 6.0 shaft I noticed that the distance with the new driver is 10-15 yards shorter. Also I feel that the new driver is significantly heavier tenth old one. But according to Titleist specs it should be even lighter because the new shaft supposed to have 56 grams and the old shaft 60 grams so 4 grams lighter. Then I did the weighting with a very precise scales and notified that he new driver is 11 grams heavier than the old one. I have to tell that the lenght of both shafts are the same - standard with the same grip. I also put the old shaft on my new TSi3 driver and it was only one gram heavier then TS3 with the same shaft. So the new head is 1 gram heavier. No problem with this. So my biggest concern is how is this possible that this premium shaft is so much heavier. So 11 grams +4 (the difference between Smoke and XC shaft) - 1(new head heavier) = 14 grams is new shaft heavier than it should be!!! I went also to my pro and he was the same opinion - this shaft is according to Titleist specs too heavy. Anyone has the same problem?

Hi, I have not seen this and had quite a few Graphite Design Shafts over time in my Titleist drivers - they have always come in on spec. There is always a build tolerance on the shaft weight, adapter (amount of epoxy), grip tape and grip weight.

During a club build I have seen a 9 grams difference just from using a more premium grip tape and replacing a grip (same make and model)

I would get your pro to check the swing weight of the the club vs your TS3 and adjust to the same as a 11/14g gram dry weight difference should not cause a 10-15 yrd difference spec to spec.
