I'm hoping to go through a wedge fitting early this year.  I want to be able to hit a variety of lofts, bounces, and grinds.  I know the Titleist fitting/demo days will have a nice selection of lofts and bounces, but not really grinds.  I'm think that would be the same for the Fitting Partners.  Obviously Manchester Lane would be the best option, but also the most expensive.  But what about the Advanced Fitting Centers or Regional Fitting Centers?  Would either or both of them work for me?  I'm an hour and a half from an Advanced Fitting Center, 4 hours to a Regional, and 6 hours to Manchester Lane.  So I'm willing to make an extended weekend golf trip if necessary to go where I need to go.  But I don't want to spend the time and money to get the best if I could get the same information from a somewhat local fitter.  Anyone have any thoughts or experiences?

I think that your best bet is to go to an Advanced Fitting Center, but, I would call ahead first to find out the wedge selection. My fitter had every SM4 in the line available to demo, but not all do. After that I would go Regional , unless there is a Titleist Demo Day near you. Good luck in your search

    Tdogg,

Think of it as an investment.  Once you get fitted properly, you will then know the bounce, lie and angle that is right for you.  You can keep those and continue to freshen up your wedges as needed.

I would strongly recommend heading down or up to Manchester Lane and book an appt with Karen.  She is the best in the business other than the Voke himself.

    Brian,

I'm hoping to make it to Manchester Lane at some point.  The plan was to come up that way this summer and turn it into a mini-golf trip, but with a two year old and a five month old, my golf funds aren't as robust this season.  So if I can get the "same" type of fitting somewhere closer, that might be a better option this year.

Hi,  We are significantly expanding the wedge fitting capabilities at Advanced Fitting Centers, and Regional Centers and they will have wedges in different lie angles as well as several different shaft options.  They will have RH as well as LH wedges in all available lofts and bounces.  They should have their upgraded wedge capabilities by mid March (or sooner).

That's great news!  What about grinds?  That's one area I have no clue what would be best and it'd be nice to be able to try a few different grinds.

They will have every wedge we offer for SM5 standard wedges, so they will have the F, S, M, L, K and T grinds.

    Cathi,

That is GREAT news!!!  Will I be able to arrange a fitting through my club and the Titleist Rep that services their account?

  10. Just got back from the Oceanside, CA facility for a full bag fitting and it was an unbelievable experience. I was particularly impressed with the wedge fitting because of all the options available. You WILL FIND something that will work for you in my opinion. My wedges and irons are on order and can't wait to get them. If you have the Tour fitting at Oceanside, Titleist will give your order top priority. OPTION 2: The Ultimate wedge fitting experience would be to have BOB VOKEY himself fit you. That experience comes with him fitting you for all your wedges and custom making 3 wedges for you. Go to the VOKEY.COM and hit the WEDGES dropdown and go to the BOB VOKEY TOUR EXPERIENCE. I, like you, have done numerous demo days, with less than positive results. Hope that helps.
