  1. I was just curious how much the swing weight would change in the vokey SM5 if you were to put different shafts in.

I am looking to put the KBS c-taper in my 52 and 56 and the KBS wedge in my 60.

I would like them to swing weight out the same as they would with the stock DG wedge shaft.

    any information would be helpful.

    Thanks

  2. Since the DG S200 is the standard shaft, assuming the new shaft is the same weight the swing weight should be similar however it depends where the weight is located in the shaft of course... I would call Titleist and ask them to run a hypo to ensure you get exactly what you want...they can factor in the grips, etc... also!

  3. Similar question.  Ordering new Vokey wedges was wanting to put True Temper XP95 S300 shafts in them and wondering what the swing weights will be.

    Thank you

    Jeff,

The swing weight will be 1 point less with the XP95 shafts.

I'm thinking of matching the shaft I have in my AP2 714, which is the NSPRO 105T Stiff Flex, in a set of sm5's (54 & 58 degree). How would the swing weights be effected in the sm5's and do you think it's good to match the shafts all the way through from my irons to my wedges?

    Thanks for your reply.

    Peter,

The swing weight will be a couple points lighter with that shaft, so you are looking at D3 for both wedges.  There is a consistency in terms of feel when matching those shafts you have in your wedges to what you have in your irons.  You tend to see different shafts in wedges for some players, because there are less full shots hit with those wedges and the player is looking for something with better feel.  This ultimately comes down to what the player likes in terms of feel and what allows them to have the control to hit different shots with those wedges.

    Seth,

They will swing weight 1 point heavier with that C-Taper.
