Does the Black Ion Rust? LH for both? Thanks
Cameron DNewport, RI
Jacob,
The LH options will come in both finishes for the TVD-K, but just the California Chrome in the TVD-M. The Black Ion is a stained finish and can rust over time when exposed to moisture.

Hey there Cameron,
So, what are the different characteristics (feel, wear) between the Black Ion on the TVD and the raw black on the SM5's? You mention the stained finish and rust, am I to assume the same can/will happen with the SM5?
Thanks!

Hi Brad,
Custom grinds are available through our Hand Ground program. See this link for more details: http://www.vokey.com/wedgeworks/products/hand-ground.aspx
To answer your question, we don't have plans to add the S Grind to the TVD line up right now because we have the 54, 56, 58, & 60 S Grind in the SM5 lineup.
Appreciate your feedback and questions!

Thanks for the info, this is very helpful. One more question.
What is your impression of the feel characteristics between the Black Ion and the California Chrome? How do they compare?
Tested out the new SM5's today. Great stick! Looking forward to seeing the new TVD's.
Feedback from the Titleist fitting gentleman had me in a 54.10 M and 58.11 K, in the SM5's.
My question here is this: what would be the difference in these specs in the TVD models (feel, grind characteristics, etc)? And, If I went with K grind in both the 54 and 58, now that we can do so in the TVD, what differences would I see in a K grind as opposed to a M grind, in the 54?
Paul -- see my answers in bold below. Hope it helps!
My question here is this: what would be the difference in these specs in the TVD models (feel, grind characteristics, etc)?
Shape: TVD is rounder in the toe and shorter in the heel area.
Feel: same
Grind: The TVD M 54 should play with slightly more bounce than the SM5. The TVD K 58 is not as wide as the SM5 K and plays with slightly less bounce.
And, If I went with K grind in both the 54 and 58, now that we can do so in the TVD, what differences would I see in a K grind as opposed to a M grind, in the 54? K would give you a wider sole, probably perform better out of the bunker slightly less versatile for open faced shots.
Thanks, Dave. Very helpful.
I tend to be between a neutral and a digger on the swing scale, and also one that needs bounce. I liked the M grind, but felt like I couldn't hit it out of the bunker as well as a K grind. I think I would want my 54 and 58 to be used both out of bunkers and for fairway/rough shots when needed. I liked the M grind on full shots, but when I got too steep my divots were pretty deep too. So I think I'd consider the K grind in both models. Does my reasoning sound right here?
Would you say the K grind generally an all-around type wedge for most conditions? Is that why you had the pro's asking for the K grind in a 54?
Sounds like the K would be a very good option for you in the 54! It is quite versatile, strong bunker club and excellent for diggers due to the cambered sole.
Best regards,
Thanks, David. You Titleist folks are the best!

Cameron, One other question: What would be the difference between the TVD California Chrome and the SM5 Tour Chrome? Any? Thanks! Paul

Awesome News! I would have loved to see a lower bounce option in the K Grind (As most of the tour players use). Quick Question; are the groves heat treated?
Thanks Cameron!!

Very excited for this! Wedges look great!

My 58 degree is about 10 years old and the face is quite worn. Does it make a difference for a 14 handicap amateur to have fresh grooves?
Put these in the bag last week. What a great feeling pair of wedges!
