First off I am about as addicted to golf as anyone I know. This is my 3rd season ever playing the game of golf. I'm 26 years old former division 1 baseball player and golf fills the competition void. Especially 4 man team scrambles. I recently switched putters from a traditional California Monterrey scotty to the new 2014 fastback and it fits my putting stroke much better. But one thing I put in the bag before my recent scramble was the new sm5 48 degree (bent to 47) to replace my pw from the 712 ap2 set. I ordered this club from a website which they let you have options of lie, loft, shaft, grip, etc. straight from the manufacturer. I went with the free options with shaft and grip obviously bc I immediately pulled it and threw in my kbs c taper the day it arrived. Next day was the tournament. First swing from the fairway 125 out, landed 3 feet left, flag high and ripped back 11-12 feet hard like pros you see on tv. These new grooves are no joke. I play sm4 in my other wedges and I can't explain how much better the trajectory and spin is improved. Mostly I would just like to announce how proud I am that titleist was a huge reason my team won the scramble (in which many college golfers played vs our team). I play titleist clubs/balls top to bottom and I will never switch. Moral of this is if you're in the market for wedges and think eh no big difference in the sm5 vs sm4, you may be costing yourself some strokes.
cheers,
kevin
