I love my SM4s but at some point soon I'll have to replace them. I demo'd the SM5s out on the course and they spin more. My thought maybe a bit too much for me.

I was wondering for those who play them, do they spin too much for you? Do you need to consciously limit the amount of spin on full approach shots?

    Thanks for your thoughts.

Haven't had that problem myself. Are they spinning so much that they come off the front of the green? Are they spinning too much to get the full distance out of them?

    Chris,

Thank you for your response. I demo'd the clubs and put them against my SM4s. They seemed to carry maybe a couple of yards less and seemed to spin about anywhere from 2 to 7 feet more. It is tough to try to equalize for landing on any slope etc. Now my wedges are 2* up and 1/2" longer while the demo's are standard. So the swings can be different causing what I think might be a difference in spin. They just seemed a bit too "spinny" for me but I very well could be wrong. Glad to hear that you did not find this to be an issue. Thank you for responding.

    Hi James,

I just bought a new SM5 vokey myself. For my game, it does spin a bit more... to compensate, I just try to land the ball a little further than I normally do. I haven't had too many problems with the balls ripping back off the front of the green. They're great wedges. I'm a fan.

    Ogiebear,

Thank you very much for your post. Very helpful. I am glad to hear about another happy player with the new wedges. It helps ease my concern. Thanks again, much appreciated.
