Shafts for Vokey Wedges....

  1. I'm in the process of ordering AP2 irons (4 - 9) with TT DG Tour Issue X100 Sensicore irons. I'm also replacing my Vokey wedges (48.08F, 54.10M, 58.07S and 62.08T). My question is should I use the same shaft that I'm using on the AP2's for the Vokey wedges? Any input and/or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi Ed,

    Thanks for the question.

As a fitter, I often recommended that individuals keep the shafts consistent from their irons into at least their PW and GW. Because the PW and GW are used mainly for full shots, you want them to perform similar to your irons. When it comes to the other wedges, many people went with a softer shaft to offer more feel. For example, you may try an S400 or S300 in your 58 and 62.

As always, it is best to see a local fitter but hopefully this gives you some direction.

    Keep us up to date.

Another option is soft stepping your X100's in your SW/LW. S400 is very popular option if like a bit more weight in your wedges. That's how I did it when I played X100. Now I'm S400 all the way through.
