I pulled my Titleist PW out and replaced it with a BV 48 and love it! I have 4 Vokey's in the bag now 48, 52, 56 & 62. It has done wonders for my short game!

Thanks for the input Chris! Much appreciated! I rely quite a bit on my short game to shoot in the 70's. Maybe this new Vokey wedge make-up and 915's will balance out my game and take it to the next level!
Notice that you play 981 DCI's. Played those years ago and those clubs were pretty good! Thanks again!!!

I asked Bob Vokey this question last year when I was with him, he told me to use his wedge or my AP2 whichever gave me better results...the AP2 I am more comfortable with at this point so that is the choice I made...
BTW, Voke is an awesome guy...unlike any other in the industry I have ever met...first class and sincere!
@Chris92009
I agree with you as to whichever club gives you the best results and confidence. I refuse to put anything in my bag if it does not make me comfortable; not even a sharpie or ball marker-(which I've designed my own logo on a poker chip). Exclusively Titleist through the bag.
That must've been an amazing experience! Hats off to you! Thanks again for your input!!!
@CoolBreeze
yes the 981 DCI are little dated compared to today's Titleist irons. I do my own club repairs, fitting etc. so I keep them in top shape they still look brand new. Next season I will be replacing them with AP2's.

I think gapping is the most important when talking wedges. I try to get 12-15 yards between each club especially the wedges and stay within my comfort yardage with them and with a wedge I never try to BUST it. Obviously I am nowhere near as strong as you. So finesse is my game.
@NCBob
I totally agree with gapping your clubs appropriately but most golfers do not have the exact yardage range between clubs. Certain clubs I feel I have to take a little off or club up and grip down. I love to work the ball left, right, high or low and combinations of each. My play style is relatively aggressive and when it gets to short game there is a high level of finesse even if I am trying to bust it. Thanks for your thoughts! Comfort is key and I will keep that in mind.

I carry 3 SM4 Vokeys - 54-11 (1* strong), 58-06 and 64-07. The choice of which wedge to use is pretty much a clear cut deal.
As far as AP1s, I use my 9 and PW extensively between 65-130 yards. Because I played without a gap wedge between 2009-2011, I've gotten used to working a PW.
I carried a 50-08 as a PW (with a set of Eye 2 irons).
The 48 leaves about a 25 yard gap to the AP1 9 iron; it is better around the greens for B n R shots but the AP1 PW is much better on full swings and pitch shots. The other thing about the AP1 9 and PW is I can hit them out of soft sand.
The other thing about 46 and 48 wedges, is I don't feel comfortable with a 35.75" PW. 35.5 is fine but it cuts the swingweight down to about D1.5. I've taken a 50-08 and cut it to 35.25 and matched the lie angle to the sand wedge and bent it 1* strong (the swing weight still remains at D3.5). I leave the gap wedge out to simplify things because sometimes you have to choose between using the 50 and the 54.
It seems to me like most of you carry a 60+ degree wedge. Not sure if I will do that since I'm pretty adept in opening up a 60 and playing a flopodopoulos type shot. My current bag seems a tad bit lonely with not filling it to 14 clubs. So far, I have pulled the 5 Wood. Will be looking to pull the PW and inserting Vokey PW, GW, SW and LW.
This leads me to the next thought...One may play a stiffer shaft or otherwise in your irons but I've seen combinations where you play X100 in the irons and play a heavier S400 the wedges. Are you guys playing this type of shaft make-up?
Currently, I'm playing S400 plus 1 inch in the irons and S300 in the wedges standard, left, loft, lie.

I'm one of the 58* guys, but with 4 Vokeys. 47* instead of my 712 AP2 PW, 50, 54, 58 bent to 51, 55, 59 to keep the 4 degree gap.

CoolBreeze,
I carry the 4 SM4 Vokey's and love them. The 46 and 52 are my "goto" clubs, while the 56 & 60 get me out of trouble.
Good luck with your choice and enjoy.

I love my Vokey wedges. Although I haven't taken my AP2 PW out yet. That might be the newest Vokey.

I carry 4 Vokes - 48, 54, 50, and 64. I truly miss the 64 in the lineup. Hope it makes return...

I carry 4 LH Vokey SM... 54, 56(bounce), 58, 60. I really want to replace my X-20 PW with a 120 yard Vokey and I'm thinking a 46.
My 54 is 105yds. Any ideas?

I have switched many different club combinations in and out for the past years. Currently I have landed on the configuration of Irons up to my 9 iron, then SM5's in 47*,53* and 59*. I have not yet found a yardage that is right in the middle of those gaps.

I swapped out my MB pitching wedge for a Vokey and never liked it as much. The Vokey was significantly lighter feeling and I lost some yardage with it. So I switched back to the stock MB PW and also have 52, 56, & 60.

I currently pulled my AP2 PW out of my bag and replaced it with a 48 degree Vokey wedge. I haven't been happier with my play from 140 yards and in! Playing in Arizona a lot I like to have added spin and the wedge has done that for me!
