James, your right they are pretty nice wedges. Like a lot of people in this community I have been lucky to play the Vokey Std SM4, SM5, TVD and Hand Ground wedges...at the end of the day they all perform wonderfully, basically the key differences are finish, extra grinds available to fit your swing, and decoration...they all perform equally well in my humble opinion. I cannot tell a distinct difference...plus I am changing mine out at least every year or sometimes twice a year for fresh grooves.
Just my two cents...enjoy!

Hi James, I purchased TVD wedges (54° and 60°) because I wanted the same grinds on both - - K grind. In addition, you get an upgraded KBS Hi-Rev shaft and NDMC grip at no charge as well. You can customize stamping and such at an additional cost but if you get just the wedge then you get much more bang for the buck and the SM5 does not (at this time) offer a K-grind 54°. These have 1° less bounce than the SM5 as well.
As far as play-ability, they are great. Awesome spin, awesome bunker play, awesome greenside performance, etc. So far I've found no downside to them vs the SM5 wedges. The one thing I really-really like about these wedges vs the SM5 is the low leading edge that hugs the ground. In short, these are great wedges but make sure the grinds suit your game...

I had the TVD Wedges in black oxide (52 56 60) Very nice wedges, I now have the SM5 wedges and although I love the Titleist wedges they look like shovels to me after playing the TVD's. I don't know if it is the color difference or if the TVD's are slightly smaller but if I had the money I would get them again for sure.

I originally got a 58* TVD because I loved the modified M-grind that comes on it - a great version for a neutral striker. I tend to believe that the TVDs are softer than the standard Vokey wedges, but to each his own! Definitely worth a try. I loved it so much that I got a 52* bent to 53* TVD as well, and am loving that one too!

The TVD wedge family are superb clubs that look like a piece of art, they are so well made and play better than you would ever expect, I have searched for twenty year to find a wedge that suits my game and have carried three TVD M grind for the past two year and will only change when the grooves wear out.

Just curious as to why they do not offer them in a true forged wedge. I know many would spend a few extra dollars for them.

I agree that the TVD wedges are great. I have a 56 and a 60, both in a K grind. I have only been able to play three rounds with them so far this year, but everything has been great so far. Thanks. J.A.C.
Absolutely Stunning. Just be prepared for that first sand shot as the finish will come off the sole.

James you can't go wrong with any of these wedges. I have played them and the 588s exclusively for many years. Next new wedges I get will be these. I play a lot of tournament level golf and you see the Titleist Vokey wedges most often in the bags of these good players with the 588s wedges second.

I play 2 TVD's and picked them up because the grind that fit me best wasn't available OTR. I have a hand ground because I couldn't get the grind & bounce I needed OTR or TVD but now have an SM5 in the bag. That really opened a lot of doors and aside from customization, IMHO, they new grinds with the SM5's made the TVD's obsolete, especially for someone like me who puts in 8 hours a week of wedge practice on top of range and rounds and replace them every 8 months or so.
