I had been struggling to break 90 since I started. My weakest area has always been pitching and chipping from 30 meters and below. Lots of duffs and tops. Ding-dongs around the green hurt my scores. Since 2007, I have been using a number of branded wedges, mainly forged. I was not a Vokey fan as I found they are on the harsh side.
I finally decided to try Vokey wedges, the SM5s. Went to a fitting session about two months ago and received the wedges in mid May 2015. They are 50 F grind, 54 M Grind and 58 M Grind. I chose gold ones as they are durable and feel a tad softer than chrome.
What I can say is it is easier to chip with the SM5s. Yesterday I scored 86. I have never expected such a low score. It was a good call switching to the SM5s.
