My PW is rather strong and is more like a 9 iron. But if you count that, I have four. My set PW and 3 Vokey's.

Just reading Siekmann's book now... He recommends basing it on your PW distance.
He says if you hit your PW 130 yards or more, you should have 4 and to consider 46, 50, 55, 60, and I'm thrilled, because that what I changed my setup to a month ago (54 bent to 55).
If you PW carry is 100, then you can get away with 2 (48, 56)
If somewhere between the above 2, then 48, 54, 60.
That certainly makes sense to me. I have 4 wedges and I use them all. I wouldn't mind having a 3i instead, or a 3W to (only have a 4w) but I think the scoring clubs are more important.

I carry 5. My pw is 45 bent to 44, then a 48*, 52*, 56* and 58 bent to 59.5*.
i went through an extensive iron fitting specific to distance gapping in 2011 and had some odd yardages and overlaps. To mitigate this, we eliminated my 5w, and adjusted lofts on irons to have my 9i at 145 yards, PW at 135, 48* at 124-128, 52* at 112-116, 56* at 100, and 59.5 at 90. This gives me plenty of options inside 110 yards based on 1/2, 3/4 and full swings.
Occasionally, I have an odd gap between my 15* 3W and 22* hybrid, but it happens so infrequently that I am better off having more options at the bottom of the set. Being just under a 6-handicap it isn't a sure thing I would hit the 5W or 18* hybrid good enough to eliminate a wedge option, and I hit plenty of wedges.
Chris MGrindelwald,
got two in my bag 52&56.
The pitching wedge I still have from the CB set

I have 3 right now, SM5 50, 54, 58, I just changed to cally XR irons, the PW is 45* so the gap is a little farther than the png I20's that I was playing, the PW was 46* I am ok with the gapping tho and I love my SM5's

Two in addition to the PW, a 52/12 SM5 and 56/14 SM4. I used to carry a 60 from another manufacturer, but found I had little use for it.

Not including my PW, I carry SM5's 52, 56 and 60

I have stock AP2 714 P (46 deg) and W (Gap Wedge 50 deg), plus Vokey 54-08 S grind, and Vokey 58-10 M Grind.
I guess that makes a total of 4 wedges.
Jim KBel Air, MD
Usually carry four; 48, 50, 54 and 60. The 60 is a recent addition but I've come to rely on it more often as the season progressed.
Christopher ASingapore,
3. 52, 56 and the PW from my 716.
Steve NSarasota, FL
I have 3 (52/8, 56/12, 60/10). In winter, if the ground is hard, I'll use lower bounce on 56 & 60. My current PW is 47.
Now, if I buy the new 714 AP1, where the PW is 45, I may consider a 4th Volkey instead of the AP1 GW. Not sure until I test them.

I only have two but I think I will get a gap wedge.
