I still play the old 2009 Spin-Milled version in my 52-56-60, as I have mentioned before. (They have been replaced many times since then with NEW 2009 ones. I am not playing 7 year old wedges, God forbid, just 7 year old designs---before the rule change---which are still legal for most of us.) I can't find new 2009 versions anymore without paying ridiculous amounts of money, I guess due to the fact that the supply is dwindling.

In any case, I have decided to finally change to the new Vokey Wedges. I just upgraded to new AP2 716s and find that the gap between my pitching wedge distance and my old Vokey SM2 52-08 has grown quite a bit.Though the new AP2 716 PW is one degree stronger than my old one, for some reason I am getting even more distance out of the new one than I would expect. Maybe it's just a better design. who knows? So, I am really leaning toward a 50* SM6. That, of course, will create a large gap with my 56* SW and 60* LW. I use both for full swings as well as sand shots and lob shots and pick either the high bounce or low bounce depending on the lie and shot. I am very confident with all my wedges and am extremely concerned about changing the set up I have been playing so successfully for the last few years, for a completely new set up. But, these are at the end of there life and I need to move ahead.

I'm thinking 50-08 or 50-12 (TBD), 54-10M or 56-14F bent to either 55-11 or 55-13 (TBD), and then 60-07S or -08M (TBD). But I am not sure without spending lots of time trying the different options. This also assumes that the bounce offerings will be similar to the SM5s, since I have no way of knowing yet what will be available in the new Vokey Wedges. I would also like to try matching my AP2 PW shaft to see how that feels on full swings, partial swings and chips.

Where can I go for a thorough Vokey wedge fitting in the mid-Maryland area? I just moved here recently and have not yet found a good outdoor Titleist fitter in the area.  I want to be able to hit these outside, in various turf conditions and sand, not inside on a mat. That would be useless. Does anyone have any suggestions for this area?

What I found out moving from Spin-Milled to SM5 is I shouldn't guess on the loft or grind. My estimate and what the Tour Van worked up weren't the same. I sent my son to the 1757 Club (AFC) near Dulles for irons/woods and he liked them. Probably want to wait 'till after the SM6s come out for the outdoors to be in spring conditions.
