  1. I just got a 56 degree black SM5 raw finish wedge as a gift and I love it. I did notice a disclaimer on the club stating that it will rust over time. I'm a little unsure how long that will take... And what I do when it does rust. Still usable? Better? Worse? I'd like to know before I purchase the same club in 60 degree. Thanks!

    Hi SWilders:

The Raw Black finish is what we consider an unplated wedge, meaning we do not use a chrome plating over the raw carbon steel. Over time, this finish will wear exposing the raw steel. Some players prefer the darker finish and ability to rust for numerous reasons including glare prevention, and aesthetics.

Depending on use, conditions and care, you could see this wear happen rather quickly. Keeping the club head clean and dry after use, will help to slow this wear, but it will eventually wear off.

This wear does not impact the performance of the club, and is considered normal wear for this product.

    Thank you

I am with Barry, I do love the oil can finish. I am getting fitted at Sea Island for a new set next week and this will be the first time since 2000 that I will be going with something not oil can. I am guessing that I will end up with the black but I will keep a open mind and let Mr. Leggett put me on the right clubs. I can't wait to hit 'em.
