Hi I was fitted at St Ives for my 716 AP2's and have 4-9 which are 2 degrees strong and PW which is 1 degree strong. What is recommended gapping for my wedges?

I have room for 3 wedges in my bag if this helps!

First, does the 'room for 3 wedges' include the PW from the 716 AP2s? This may play a part in the gapping.

One rule of thumb I've heard is that if you only like making full swings, then you'll likely want to go 4 degrees between wedges, which should translate to around 12 yard gappings.

If you have no issues with making partial swings, then a larger gapping could be fine/desirable.

Personally, my 9i is 42 degrees and I go with 4 degree gaps for my first 2 wedges, 46 & 50, then I go 6 degree gaps to my 56 SW and 62 LW. I don't mind making 3/4 & 1/2 swings with my 7i-LW, to get (or at least attempt) the ball flight and distance the I'm looking for. In fact, I never take a full swing with the LW, as it's really a specialty club I use for short and down-hill-lie sand shots and fluff shots which need to carry a short distance and roll out as little as possible.

Note: My HCI is 16, but these are tendencies and opinions I've heard before.
  3. Nano, How do you like the 62 degree wedge? Keep thinking I want to experiment with one but would have to take out a club. I have PW, 52, and 58. The 58 is my favorite, don't want to part with that but could take out a long iron. Is the 62 a club you use often?
