SM4 Wedge Help

  1. I'm currently using 712 AP1's and with having a PW at 45 degrees, I'm having trouble deciding with GW to go with. The GW that came with the 712 AP1's is too big and chunky for my liking. I'm looking to add a SM4 50 degree wedge and possibly a 58 as well.

    Current Wedge Setup:

    AP1 PW - 45 degree - (120-140 Yards)

SM4 54.11 degree - (100 Yards to green) My go to club for all chipping needs. It is my favorite club in the bag.

Vokey 60.06 degree - Really only use it when i'm about 40 in from relatively deeper rough.

So my question is should I go with the SM4 50 at 8 or 12 degree bounce? Playing out here in Arizona, course turf conditions can range from butter soft to rock hard depending on the time of year and how much money you're willing to pay for a nice course. I'm also looking at adding the SM4 58.09, as bending the 260.06 down 2 degrees would put the bounce at 4 degrees which seems really low.

    Thank you for the help

    Hi SRadford:

    Thank you for your question.

Given your current set make up, we would recommend a 50 degree wedge to fill the gap between your PW and 54.11.

The 50.08 is going to be a little more versatile in the varying course conditions you have described.

The 58.09 is a great option, and may give you a little more versatility and forgiveness.

We recommend visiting your certified Titleist fitter to get a proper gap and bounce fitting to help optimize your Vokey Wedges.

    I concur on the 50-08.

I have an SM5 60-04 and that is L grind. The bounce is deceiving because I have no problem with soft bunkers. My sand wedge is an SM4 56-11.

58 isn't a bad idea. I had an SM4 58-06 (L grind) and I could hit it off any lie.
