  1. Hi everyone, I bought a 58.12 SM6 K grind last weekend and played it for the first time. On my first round out with the new wedge, I utilized on 2 bunker shots. Now the bunker sand was a little gritty from being wet but I did not see any other problems with the trap. After my round i noticed that after just swinging the club twice, it had a gash on the sweet spot and showed visible damage. Is there anything I can do here? Is an exchange possible?

Hard to see any gash in the picture, but if there is one, there must have been a rock or something in the sand. Unfortunately, that will happen from time to time with various clubs on swings from questionable areas. Wedges take a beating as they typically spend a lot of time going deeper through the turf than a longer iron might. Faces will get nicked up. It's normal. Usually it doesn't happen on the first or second swing you make with a new club, but it happens sooner or later. In your case, unfortunately, I guess it happened sooner. I feel your pain. Been there. It's like getting that first door ding in your new car. It sucks when it happens the day you buy it, but what can you do? If you drive it everyday, it's going to get a small ding here or there, eventually. It's the nature of use.

Unless I'm missing something in that picture, I don't think the club shows any abnormal damage. If there is some, maybe a more illustrative picture will help your case.

I would say that once it has been in play, you can't return it, but check with the place you bought it.

Shouldn't have put the club in play if you wanted it to stay new!

Spend 20 minutes in a practice bunker and that nick will be smoothed over

Unless there is something I'm not seeing in your photos the wedge looks perfectly fine. Again the photo may not show the damage you mention but it's never a bad idea to contact titleist to see what they can offer you.

    Hey It's a Wedge...not a piece of fine china.
All the nicks and gashes build character.

    Cheers,

I remember when i first got my sm5 raw black wedges. Shortly after i got them we played Oakmont and needless to say they saw sand there and looked like they were used after that day! They are meant to get nicks and lose their color!!
