Lie adjustment on Vokey wedges

  1. I just recently purchased a set of Vokey wedges from a buddy of mine. Wedges came right from the Titleist factory set to 1* upright. I play all my irons at 2* flat and wedges possibly 3* flat of standard. Would it be a problem for these to be bent back to 2* flat of standard? I believe they are black nickel finish.

I have the black nickel wedges and have bent them 1 degree upright. It shouldn't be a problem at all to adjust the lie angle. Provided its done right. The wedges are forged steel that bend fairly easy. Have a good club fitter do it for you.

Gary: Vokey wedges cast nor forged. There are limits on the degrees that forged can be bent without potentially damaging them. You are correct in suggesting a certified club fitter to look at the club and do the work.
  4. Black is the toughest to bend so I would be very careful of breaking a hosel....
  5. That being said, do you think bending it 3* in the opposite direction is out of the question?
  6. If the lie angle is bent more than 2*, whether upright or flat then you could end up voiding the warranty on the wedges. Due to the finish bending them anymore than 2* could cause a small fracture in the finish, which could then lead to a small rock or debris to get in there and damage them more.
