Are the new V Grinds SM6 wedges with the progressive CG? SO basically SM6s with a different grind? Thanks

    Thank you for your question.

The V Grind is for players seeking increased bounce on square face shots as well as increased versatility from enhanced heel, toe and trailing edge relief.
For full shots with a square face, the V Grind has high measured bounce best for players with a steep angle of attack. However, when the face of the V Grind is opened, the wedge produces increased versatility through heel, toe, and trailing edge sole relief, more consistent distance control through Progressive Center of Gravity and maximum spin through TX4 groove technology.

This wedge is ideal for normal to soft conditions and for the player with a steep angle of attack.

Finally, there are customization options on V Grind not offered on other wedges including the option to choose between 4 custom toe engravings.

I hope this helps and thank you for reaching out to us on Team Titleist.

    Andrew,

I got my V grinds and played with them today (and hit a lot of practice shots around the green and into the green from different distances).

They felt a little different to me than my SM6s (I did not take my SM6s out today so it is based on what I thought they felt like).

The SM6s felt "hotter" while the V grinds didn't jump as much. The ball seemed to come off a bit softer. They just felt different.

I checked my divots from the fairway shots and they were uniform so it wasn't (and shouldn't have been) a lie issue.

I was wondering if there is anything to what I think I felt or is it my imagination or could it be the grind (vs the S grind) or maybe I hit some shots a bit higher on the face than I did with my SM6s (just an odd day)?

I really liked the grind, the flexibility. They just felt "less hot". Just wondering if there is any difference.

    Thanks
