  1. Im a beginner, still at club-handicap playing mid 90s and Im thinking about getting some new wedges. Until now I have been using a mackdaddy2 sw(56*) as my only wedge, but today I bought sm6 50*08 and 54*10 s-grind. Im going into stronger lofted wedges as Im probably bying new irons in a while, and pitching-wedges of the modern GI-irons are fairly strong. My md2 56*14 have been my universal wedge for some months now, and used everywhere around the green for flops, sand and pitches inside 40 yards, but i hope the sm6 will give me more versatility in three different tools. So now I just miss the lobwedge. I tried the 54s today in the bunker(pretty hard bunkers at my course) and it works best with an square face, so when it is little green to work with it runs past the hole. In the rough it seems I can open the face a bit though. That leaves me unsecure with what grind I should choose for my lobwedge. Can the 58*12 K-grind be something for me in terms of forgiveness or should I go for the M-grind? The bunkers here in norway are often wet an heavy.

I don't know much about grinds, however I purchased 3 new SM6 wedges this year and absolutely love them. I went with the 52.08 F - 56.10 S - 60.12 K. I really like the K grind for bunker shots, it also surprised me how well it performed around the greens on pitches & flops. I mostly use the 56* around the green as the 60K tends to stop too quickly. The K grind is a nice option to have in the bag and IMO has the GI tech in traditional looking wedge.

Hi ! I enjoyed reading your questions -- you seem very thoughtful about your golf game and your equipment! :-)

Regarding the type of grind, I would strongly suggest, if it is at all possible in your case, to go to a certified Titleist fitter and try the various wedge combinations out. A skilled fitter will assist you in choosing the best grind to meet your needs (in addition to the bounce and loft). It could very well prove to be that the "K - Grind" is your best option for what you wish to accomplish and if so, then it is money well spent!

60* K grind works wonders out of the bunkers! Also very useful for pitches on tight fairways for me

I would echo the other posters sentiments regarding being custom fit. However if you forego that option, I think you will find that typically higher bounce is more forgiving for most players, especially beginners. If you have had good luck with a previous high bounce wedge (56.14) you will likely enjoy the F or K grind as well.

The 58* K grind works wonders out of the sand, plus it's nice to use around the green in the rough.
That's where I can get it to flop and stick.

Like others have said, if you can get fitted would be a good idea.
