So i'm one of the taller golfers out there coming in at 6'6 and I have recently purchased a new SM6 set(52/56/60) and they are standard length. My question is wether or not I should lengthen them. My AP1's are +1.00 but I don't know if adding that extra inch onto my wedges is going to make a whole lot of difference. What do you all think?

    Blake,

Like yourself, I am a tall golfer checking in at 6'5". I have my irons 1" longer and used to play standard wedges. When I purchased my last set, I had them lengthened by .5" and that has worked out well. I don't feel as hunched over which helps on full shots. Plus you can still choke up to get it back to a regular length.

    Blake,
I always have all of my clubs set the same, I have heard that it is not as important with wedges, but it gives me confidence that all of my clubs are the same and therefore my gaps between clubs when a full swing will be the same.

I play with this guy every now and then who was once a college BB player. He is 7' tall. His wedges are the length of my 7 iron. He told us his brother is taller than he is by 2 inches!

But to respond to your question, at your height, I would definitely consider a little extra shaft length. It will likely help keep your posture better at address and through the ball.

I'm 6'5" and I play all my irons/wedges +1/2". I always like to have the consistency from top to bottom, but really it's not a big deal to put a stock wedge in play. With all that height usually comes with the long, lanky arms that let your hands hang close to the same distance from the ground as somebody who is 5'10", so the length of your wedges won't come down to much more than feel and preference unless you have disproportionately short arms for your height.

Thanks for the input Christian, Martin, Doug, and Trevor. Right now I'm going to play a few rounds with the stock length and see how that goes, but more likely than not i will be adding that extra half inch like y'all said. Thanks!
