  1. I have problems at times getting out of bunker and blading them out. I have a project X rifle 6.5 in my 60 degree. Wonder if that shaft is too stiff for bunker shots? Club is maybe just not giving any when it hits the sand. Anyone got any thoughts?

I doubt it is too stiff. You really don't load the shaft all that much on a greenside bunker shot.

Get together with your local PGA Professional. I bet it is something simple like your ball position or take away....

Keep your weight on your front foot. Problem solved

Great advice, "R". That is what my pro told me. Also he had me change wedges because the sand was a little heavier this time of the year with all the rain.
  5. It's all in your grind preference I like the k or s you can hit down on the ball slighty and spin it sounds like your picking them clean

If your blading the ball it is because of a few possible reasons.
1- on the down swing you are standing up slightly during transition before impact.
2- your feet are too close together like that of a normal fairway shot. In bunkers you need to widen your stance to help bring down your stance naturally and for stability, Also in doing so most sand shots golfers tend to semi bury their feet in the sand, if you are one that does then make sure you choke down on the club to equal the feet being buried.
3- play the ball further back in you stance to ensure contact maybe 1 inch behind ball first to achieve a great out.
4- keep your eyes and head down during transition until after contact.

    Hope to helps

I agree with 19hole...It's probably more body mechanics. Some things GS like keeping legs flexed and quiet, or opening the face and swinging through. You can also look at the bounce of the club. Vokey explains in depth what you may need if you dig with a wedge or hit clean.

I doubt it is your shaft and probably your technique. When I do what you describe I am moving my body too much and my backswing is too fast and I do not follow through. Keep still, stay behind the ball and keep the club head moving when you contact the sand.
  9. I play a steel fiber stiff in my 60 deg. 10 deg bounce lob wedge, it's works just fine on short bunker shots, your shaft is not to stiff go see your local pro. Enjoy this great game.
