  1. My wedges look worn out especially my 56. Is there anything i should do about it? should i Keep playing with them becuase i have heard that it can really affect the spin on shots. I don't really know if i have enough money to go and buy a brand new wedge.

If they look worn out, then they probably are and should be replaced. Check and see what your current wedges are worth on trade-in (www.golfgalaxy.com/.../golf-club-trade-in-center). It's probably not a whole lot, but it will certainly help offset the cost of new ones.
  3. I'm in the same boat Nick. I have really noticed it with my 60. It's the club I use for most shots 100 and in. I used to be able to fly it a little long and bring it back, but have really noticed it running out now. If my wife wouldn't have my head I would really love to get the copper finish.
  4. Not blowing my own horn, but I have (6) Vokey wedges, 52,56,60,62,60,60 three of the 60's all have different bounce for different turf conditions, the oldest SM5 60 deg with four degrees of bounce I practice with the most, the blackest one is my new 62 deg, can you guys tell which one gets the most use? I.e. Practice club.

It's important when you don't feel you are getting enough spin. If you shots used to check in 10 feet but now roll out to 20-30 feet, it's probably not you. If getting back 2-6 strokes is a need and not just a want, then you'll find a way to upgrade.

Worn out grooves can definitely effect the spin, or lack of. Some have their wedges re-grooved depending on the age of the wedge, but they may be so worn that may not be possible. You might check with a shop in your area to see if this is possible as a temporary fix. If you are looking to trade in your current wedge go to PGA.COM club value. That is the blue book that everyone uses when determining a fair value in trade-in and resale. If you use your 56* a lot you should consider purchasing a new one about once a year (or every 75+ rounds) for maximum performance. You might check with golf shop or on line retailer who is a Titleist account, for a previous year model, say a Vokey SM5 versus the SM6 and a good all purpose wedge, possibly a 56.10 S grind. Best of luck.
  7. Here are mine, which one do I practice with? I rotate these depending on course conditions 52,56,60,62.and three of the sixties all have different bounce. Own six Vokey's all together.

Check with Golfworks and see what they will charge to refurbish your wedge. My brother had his done and at a reasonable rate.
  9. Sorry for the two posts, glitch.

    Nicksal9:

    Thank you for your question.

Worn grooves will result in less spin and an increase in launch angle. We recommend visiting your local Titleist fitter or sign up for a complimentary Titleist Thursday to go through a Groove Wear Evaluation. More information on Groove Wear and Spin Performance can be found at the following link.
