  1. Finally going to get fit for new wedges and looking for some feedback. Should I stick with a Titleist fitter or consider True Spec Golf or Club Champion? I currently play Vokey and don’t think I would change, but...

How close to real conditions can you get from a plastic grass mat? Or use a real bunker? If you play the game outdoors, your fitting should match those conditions. An indoor fitting is only works at Top Golf.
    ...IMHO. ;-)

Go to a Titleist product specialist on a driving range. The very best experience I had with getting fitted with my new Vokey wedge was at Pinehurst, when I was fitted by team Vokey out of the sand trap and around the greens. Has saved me a couple of $$. Check out and see there is a Titleist Thursday in your area this fall and they are FREE. Titleist product specialist know their stuff, so do the Titleist fitters. Using a Trackman inside a cage is fine, I guess, but personally I always want to be outside when getting fitted, then I go to my favorite dealer and purchase my products, not necessarily where they are doing the fittings. I was to see the reaction of the ball off the club.

Don, I was under the impression that TOP GOLF is a party golf, bar, restaurant venue. Designed for fun and games. At least that is what I saw at Myrtle Beach. Correct me if I am wrong.

Great points guys. I think the message here is that indoor fittings into a net with a TrackMan like devise are okay if you just want to know speed, spin, trajectory, etc. on irons or woods but wedges are more about interaction of the bounce with the turf and sand. The best fit would be testing in conditions most similar to your home course or course conditions that you play most frequently. I personally have two 54 degree wedges, one an S-grind and one an F-grind just so I can switch them for different courses.
  5. I'd go with a Titleist fitter / trained fitter. Did that last week, fitter had GPS/flightscope so was able to see the stats etc for that and importantly took them onto practice green to hit a few shots with each wedge to feel comfortable. Was surprised I ended up with high bounce wedges but stats backed up the feeling I was getting. Bought 46, 50, 54 and 60 degree wedges
