  1. I need to create a 55 degree wedge. Is it better to bend a 54 degree weaker, or a 56 degree stronger, or does it matter? (My other specs are 1/2 inch over, 3 degree upright, if it matters) Thanks!

  2. Assuming you are trying to gap your wedges (50, 55, 60) or thereabouts. 1 degree will create only about 2.5 yards difference on full swings. 54 to 55 will increase effective bounce by a degree, 56 to 55 will decrease it by a degree. If you do it, I would favor 54 to 55 and use the extra bounce.
  3. Great-thanks!
  4. Why do you need a 55? Are you trying to gap your wedges 4 degrees apart?
I would go and get fitted by Titleist. For me, bounce has always been more of a determining factor than loft.
  5. Just got new T100s with 50 degree gap wedge, so trying to go 55 and 60 on others
  6. To be truthful, I don't think having a 56 or a 54 is going to create much difference. I would leave the club with its intended loft to get the proper benefit of the bounce.
I have heard nothing but good things about the new Titleist irons.

If I bend a wedge, it is in the direction of strong. My wedge lofts are 44-50-57-64. The 46-10F has just a tad bit too much bounce for its intended use so I bent it to 44. I gain 5 yards in distance and the lower bounce is better for hard pan lies. The 57 loft is a 58-08M and that is not a huge difference but I use it for a wide variety of conditions with one being long bunker shots out of hard sand (I can still hit out of softer bunkers because that is the nature of the beast on M grind).

As far as my irons, I have Miz JX900 7-9 (32-36-40) and an Apex 8 iron (38). I have an Apex 7 bent strong (32) but the Miz 7 iron hits better.
