Taken from the website “Vokey’s Spin Milled process is unique to each finish and loft for the sharpest, most consistent groove edges.”

Does this mean my 50 deg F grind SM7 should have a different groove pattern to my 54 deg M grind SM7?

    Ok, thanks.

This has left me confused however, as my 50 deg F grind brushed steel finish SM7 has a very different visual appearance to my 54 deg M grind chrome SM7 when comparing grooves and face 'etching'. Hopefully the differences can be seen on the photos??

Is this normal, or should I have any concerns?

  5. The groove width, depth and spacing is different depending on loft. There's one arrangement of grooves on 46, 48, 50, 52 degree pitching/gap wedges, a different arrangement on 54 and 56 degree sand wedges and a third arrangement on 58, 60 and 62 degree lob wedges.

Thanks for this; it now makes more sense. This view is also confirmed by what it says on the Vokey website, although they quote slightly different loft ranges to groove patterns...."SM7 wedges also feature a distinct groove design between lofts: low lofts (46°-54°) are designed with narrower, deeper grooves, while higher lofts (56°-62°) have wider grooves."
My 50 and 54 have different arrangements, which is contrary to the website.

    Thanks again,
  7. Interesting.

Maybe I was remembering the SM6 having three different groove patterns.

But to my eye, the grooves on my SM7 52.08F and 56.14F do look pretty similar it's true.
