  1. Just got 'em today. Haven't even hit them yet. Did some custom paint fill on them though. Might have some touch up to do tomorrow when it's light out.

Love the cusomt pint fill. It's one of my favorite things to do once I gte new wedges.
Nothing like a little perosnal touch!
  3. Hey! Another Charlotte guy. Thanks Andrew.
  4. One of my favorite things to do in the winter is clean my clubs, remove the paint, and paint fill a new color (typically use glass paint). Just starting to get into stamping to up the look for my wedges. DIY for golf is always a good time.
  5. Nice! I have the jet black SM7’s and was thinking about doing this! Actually made a post yesterday about it.

Any tips on materials/techniques would be greatly appreciated, as I’ve never painted my own wedges. I am mainly worried about discoloring/staining the jet black with excess color.

Thanks in advance for any helpful tips you may offer!

  6. AJ R, I used fine point Sharpie Paint Markers (available on Amazon).

I found a few items around the house to practice on .... including a couple of old wedges. Let the paint dry a bit before wiping and avoid 'linty' materials like q-tips. Switch to a clean area of your wiping towel/rag each time you use it.

It also seemed best to do the fill twice. First time, let the paint set for, say, an hour or so before wiping. Wait overnight then add a 'second coat' to add additional paint and touch up imperfections and let that dry overnight before wiping.

There are tons of YouTube videos, some from manufacturers, including Vokey if I'm not mistaken. There are almost as many tips and techniques as there are instructional videos.

I only saw some very, very minor staining which should wear away will just a little normal use. Except in the 'cut out' area with VOKEY DESIGN. That area is below the plane and the paint pen 'misfired' and left blobs on two of the three wedges. I was not able to fully clean the edges in that area as well as I would have liked.

This is the final, final version after touching up with another coat what is in the picture above:

They look nice. I have to paint fill the loft on my black SM7's due to poor vision up close. It is difficult for me to see without it and does add to the look.
  11. They look fantastic! great job
