  1. Decided to reexamine my wedges over the recent years....replacing sets about every 3-4 months...

How many have you accumulated recently?

  2. Too many? That bag still has room for a few more. My collection is currently at 9 Vokey's, but yours is quite good too.

Wedges are like air. Need them in order to survive.

Nice collection but if your changing them every 3-4 months which ones do you get used to.

In the areas where I play the fairways and the sand are very similar so I do not have a lot of wedges. My extras I sell when I purchase new ones. I only keep what I need. I have all my clubs pretty well dialed in and do not like changing them around. At my age, a life of simplicity serves me well.

    Pretty good spread there.
Looks like from 46 degs to 64.

What are you gaming right now?

    I go: t200-pw at 43degs
    Vok-46 bent to 47
    Vok-50 bent to 51
    Vok-54 bent to 55
  10. My bag has 5 that I carry & my garage has 3 more that I can swap in my current setup.
    The 5 in my bag are 43° set PW, 48.10 F SM7, 52.08 '09 Spin milled, 56°/11 and 60°/10 from another brand.
In the garage guest set is a 46°/9, 50°/10 from that other brand and a 58°/9 from a different brand.
I've never carried all 8, but routinely will bring 6 or 7 wedges and leave Driver/3W at home when playing a par 3.

    44-50-57-64. I use a 46-10F bent to 44 in place of a 9 iron. 50-08F. 58-08M bent to 57 and 64W.

As backup, 58-14K bent to 56 and 62-08T bent to 60 and PM Grind 64/10

Update: 58-14K replaced 58-08M. Believe it or not, the former gets under the ball better on firm lies.

I have played Vokeys since 2009. Over that period, I have had a lot of them, but most of my old ones have been sold. I have kept a set of the 2009 Spin Milled around, because they are the old style (now non-conforming) square grooves. However, I only use them for fun now. Not in actual play. It was my 4th or 5th set of that iteration (the 2009 version).

I continued buying new sets of that 2009 version, even after the CC, SM4 and SM5s were released, because for club level Ams, the old grooves were still accepted. Only pros and high-level Ams could not play them (within the rules). And frankly, they were better than the new stuff, spin-wise.

Finally, when the SM6s were released, I broke down and moved on to the new style grooves. Mostly because I was having a hard time finding new, still wrapped in plastic versions of the old 2009 iteration on the internet. I learned to love the SM6s, then the SM7s were even better, and now the SM8s are better still.

On average, I change out my regular SW and LW every year, but I play and practice nearly everyday, so, I admit, it truly isn't often enough. I also have some different loft and grind alternate Vokeys I move in and out of the bag for certain conditions. So those don't get as much play and I can usually get through a couple seasons with each. I do not typically change out my Vokey GWs every year though. Only when the new design is introduced. My GWs don't get nearly the same amount of usage as my SW and LWs do. So changing GWs once every two year cycle is usually okay for me.

I am just about ready to purchase my second set of SM8s after about 150 rounds with the first. Hopefully, they will last until the next iteration (SM9?) is released. All in all, doing the math in my head, I'd guess I have been through about 30 Vokey wedges in the last 10 years. There are at least 12 still kicking around my house.
  15. How does a t100 pitching wedge compare to a vokey 46 degree wedge?

    Nice collection Chris.

I currently have nearly 200 Tour used Vokey wedges in my collection, 7 staff bags, a stand bag, loads of accessories etc.

I've attached a link to an instagram post of my collection, there's been a few more additions since then!!
