I'm looking to upgrade my SW and LW. I currently have the SM6 F Grind (14 bounce) for SW and SM6 S Grind (10 bounce) for LW. I was fitted for the SM6s at TPI in Oceanside in 2016.
I want a more versatile LW that I can open up around the greens to better slide under the ball (especially off tighter lies) and I also like to throw low spinners into the greens on pitch shots. I have read that a good commination would be a high bounce SW and a Low Bounce LW to provide a wide variety of options.
I previously played a 7 degree bounce SM4 LW that I liked better around the greens than the SM6 S Grind LW I was fitted for. Not sure what current grind the SM4 7 degree bounce would be most similar to.
From the research I have done on Vokey.com, I need to look at the M, L, WW T, or the WW Low Bounce K for the LW Grinds. I am leaning towards the D Grind for the SW.
I have done the Wedge Selector Tool on the Vokey site several times (which does not seem so produce WW T or Low Bounce K as options) and come up with a few results.
Which one of the LW Grinds would be best for opening up and sliding under the ball and being able to hit the low spinning pitch shot? Would the D Grind for SW be a good compliment to one of the lower bounce LWs?
Thanks in advance for the guidance.
