  4. I would love help learning the exact wedge I need as far as grinds go. I'm clueless about it. I live in DFW which is hot and dry in the summer and wet and frozen in the winter and spring. Ground is either hard as a rock or like hitting out of mud unless you are on a very well taken care of fairway. Heck, even those are looking rough right now.

There are a number of Premier fitters around the Metroplex that you can find on the fitting page. It won’t hurt to interview a few on what their fitting areas are like. Off of mats inside won’t be as good as off of turf.
You might want to look under wedges and read up on the available grinds. Just to be familiar with the names of the grinds. Then try the app in another response in this thread. That should help you when you find a fitting. I have tried to understand the options and was surprised that the app gave me a similar response to my current wedges. I’ve never had a great deal of confidence in the other club and ball online apps. I always felt like they steered ma but didn’t consider me personally enough. This one surprised me.

Interesting results from the app. I got the same recommendation as I have in the bag. Actually it suggested a 58-S and i opted for an M. My bunkers are generally firm, but for the rare soft sand, the M should offer more bounce on opening. The 50-54 are the same.

MyGolfSpy listed Vokey’s 8 things for a successful fitting. I need to get more data on actual distances to get ready for a full on course fitting. There seems to be only a limited number of quality fitting locations that can handle tight green side and bunker fittings. Even though I can find these conditions on course with great regularity.
